This Rotring multi-pen is easily one of my favorite desk tools. You get a mechanical pencil, a black pen, and a red pen all packed into one slim, solid-feeling body — and it somehow doesn’t feel bulky or awkward like most multi-pens do. Just click and rotate, everything switches smooth. The camouflage green is subtle but sharp. It gives it just enough personality without screaming “tactical gear nerd.” It’s the kind of pen that makes people at work do a double take. I’ve had coworkers ask about it more than once — definitely one of those small things that ends up being a quiet flex on your desk. Feels way more expensive than it actually is. The metal body has a good weight to it, and the matte finish just feels nice in the hand. Way better than juggling three separate pens and a pencil all day. If you’re someone who takes notes, sketches, marks up docs — or just wants to be the envy of the office supply drawer — this one’s a smart pickup.

A joy to write with and great part of everyday carry

This is an amazing pencil. I haven’t explored D1 refills much, but these seem really good. I’m probably going to swap them for some 0.3 or 0.4 mm ones at some point, but they work. I primarily use the pencil (because refills are cheaper, and I LOVE the pen. My only (minor) complaints are the lack of eraser, and the clip coming off easier than other rOtrings. But don’t get me wrong, it’s an AMAZING pen. I see why people would pay $70+ for it, but I’m especially happy having gotten it for $26.

super convenient pen/pencil, its built out of metal and feels good to write with in the hand. only thing im not the biggest fan of is that you can pull it apart from the back thing that rotates, i would have liked if this was screwed or somehow clipped in to avoid being so easy to dismantle during use. you can basically take it apart by pushing unreasonably hard on the pen when writing but over my years of use i have not found it to be a real issue

It's comfortable to use and looks great, but none of it's implements meet the quality of having a dedicated tool for them.

This pen is amazing. I've seen a few complaints about looseness, etc. But that is not at all what I experienced. This pen has great smooth, tight action when selecting different cartridges. Works beautifully and feels fantastic to hold. Highly recommended.

Actually really disappointed in this, coming from Uni Jetstream multipens and rOtring drafting pencils. The ball points all have dreadful wobble to them which is distracting and unpleasant, the cap offers no hidden eraser for the pencil, the chamber rotation method lacks a solid "click" or channel to secure any of the 3 writing tools in the retracted state, said chamber rotation is friction fit tubes and no secure threads, and for my personal use case, the clip is too tight, just slightly too long, and the bent end of it too oblong for smooth use, instead getting constantly snagged on the pen loop. rOtring is a good brand and my hope in getting a metal writing tool was to have a sturdier and more dependable writing experience, not a shakier one. All of others issues could be forgiven I think, were it not for the terrible wobble. The wobble feels even more unforgivable, given that the cartridge/refill sizes are the tiny D1 size, a less commonly available/broadly compatible size and quicker to run out. If I am making sacrifices in the cartridge size despite the full length size of the housing, I would at least expect to have a rock solid and sturdy writing experience.

Love these multipens - nice quality and heft. Only downside is there is no eraser. The cap is fixed in place and only used to extend the pencil lead. The Red and Blue ink pens write very nicely. Have used pretty much daily for an extended period of time.

Fantastic pen lovely weight. If you can only carry one pen this is that pen. Red and Black biro’s are very smooth and fine point. Pencil also very nice. Easy to switch between the three settings. Fits in my suit pen pocket well and always get comments on how it looks.

EDITED AFTER MORE USE: Initially I gave a 3 star review because of the two issues below. I've upgraded my rating to 5 after using this pen for a longer time, but I do still note the issues below. The physical dimensions and ergonomics of this pen are really nice. Very well balanced weight, comfortable to hold, great control and grip with the knurling. It's become my favourite go to daily pen for quick notes and extended work use. It does have a premium feel in the hand. The main issues for me are: 1) the stock refills aren't great, low saturation colour and not super smooth. I highly recommend you immediately replace the refills that come installed. I replaced them with Uni SXR-200 refills which are excellent. 2) the mechanism jams sometimes, so you have to backtrack or remove and reinsert the sleeve. I have found over time that it has broken in a bit but the issue is still a very occassional minor annoyance, and was unexpected for the price/brand. There are many other multipens of good quality from Pentel, Zebra, and others you might want to look at before buying this to make sure it's the best option for you.
