Q: Does the price make them sound better?

I had shure se846 pro which i gave away to a friend because i didnt think it was what i considered premium sounding for $900 or so. These are definitely Better in every way. Lows and highs are equally amazing. I would pay double for these if i had to. 1k is a bargain in high fidelity iem of this calibre. Just be wary of particular vendors!
