Messy, intense & addictive
Twisted Hate is a bold and addictive romance that leans fully into its intense, enemies-to-lovers dynamic. The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable, and their banter and tension keep things engaging from start to finish. The story doesn’t hold back emotionally, and while the characters can be frustrating at times, that messiness is part of what makes it so compelling. The pacing is strong, and it’s the kind of book that’s easy to binge in just a few sittings. Some moments feel a bit dramatic or over the top, but if you enjoy high tension and strong personalities, it works in the book’s favour.Overall, it’s a fiery, emotional read that delivers exactly what it promises.

one of the most convincing enemies-to-lovers plot
Twisted Hate by Ana Huang is a scorching enemies-to-lovers romance that offers a fiery and well-executed portrayal of a relationship transitioning from animosity to passion. The palpable tension between Jules and Josh is brilliantly written, making it one of the most convincing enemies-to-lovers plots. Their constant bickering and annoyances create a foundation for a relationship transformation, and it's clear that the characters' connection is genuine.Jules Ambrose, with her girlboss personality, is an alluring and complex character, though her past actions add a layer of intrigue to her.Josh Chen, while sometimes appearing harsh, is equally compelling, and his character growth is a significant highlight.Ana Huang's writing is engaging, and her storytelling prowess shines throughout the book. The banter, anger, and tension are expertly woven into the narrative, maintaining a perfect balance between the "enemies" part and the "lovers" part of the story. While the overall plot and character dynamics are compelling, the backstory that contributes to the miscommunication conflict near the end of the story could have been more entertaining or relevant. With its intense chemistry, well-developed characters, and an enemies-to-lovers plot executed to perfection, Twisted Hate is a must-read for romance enthusiasts. Even if you have reservations about the first book, this series will surely keep you hooked, and you'll find it difficult to say goodbye to these incredible characters and their hot, fictional world.

Josh and Jules are perfect 🤍
It’s no secret Twisted Hate is one of my most anticipated reads of the year. Ana totally smashed it out of the park and I loved every second of reading Josh and Jules’s story. This book is done to perfection, the story so well-thought-out and the details are just remarkable. I never thought anyone could top Rhys Larsen, but I was wrong. I fell hard and fast for Josh.Josh is a handsome, smart, successful doctor adored by many. To Jules, he is a judgmental playboy. He thought she was a bad influence and she overheard him telling Ava to end their friendship at college. The hate spiralled since. I want to applaud Ana for coming up with the most creative and hilarious dialogue. The insults and bickering made me laugh so hard!Their animosity exploded into a night of passionate, toe-curling hotness and they decided to form an EWB arrangement. The spice is off the charts hot, like lava hot. Josh is absolutely filthy. They say the deeper the love, the deeper the hate. Bit by bit, rules were bent and their relationship transformed. They also leaned on each other to face their demons. Josh is honestly the sweetest guy, I lost count of how many times I swooned over things he said or did. Jules is such a badass and she is someone I look up to. Her ambitious, her hard work and “I won’t let you walk all over me” attitude. Seriously this girl has so much strength in her. I love how in sync their energy, their goals and their views of the world are.Ana cleverly weaves new characters and subplots into this book to hint at what’s to come. At the same time, it warms my heart so see familiar faces. The girl squad, the brother-sister moments and above all, the heart-to-heart between Josh and Alex. It has been a wild ride and these two will forever have my heart.

The book was annotated
I didn’t like that the book was annotated hence it didn’t make the reading much fun . It spoiled the book 😔

It was going so well…
This one was almost my (second) favourite (Ava and Alex all the way) but that third act break up went too far for me. Even with understanding from both sides why they did/reacted like they did, the use of sex from Josh after Jules told the truth verged on assault in my opinion and it was just too cruel. An uncomfortable few pages. Such a shame as their banter and connection was so good. The happily ever after just wasn’t realistic after that. How could they move on so easily? 5 star down to three. Good writing and story telling though, will still pick up books from this author.

Well worth a read
Im in the middle of reading this series of books and they have got me hooked. It follows each character in a group of friends in each book, and tells you about each others relationship and also their history as well.

Still my favourite book in this series
Love the Twisted series. Josh and Jules book is my favourite in this series because it’s so different from the other books. In this book you meet Josh Chen - Ava’s older brother and Alex’s best friend from Book 1 in the Twisted series and Jules’ Ava’s best friend. Josh and Jules have always hated each other. This is mainly due to negative views from Josh about Jules’ influence on Ava as a friend and Jules hating Josh calling her Jessica Rabbit and other things. In the book we get to see how their relationship moves from hate, to lust, to falling in love, their own personal growth and struggles, their desire to be the best in their professions, the experience of falling in love for the first time and navigating a relationship. The sex scenes are so spicy but I love the ordinariness of their relationship. This book isn’t a romance for the faint hearted and if you enjoy enemies to lovers books I would urge you to read this.

Great enemies to lovers
Jules and Josh 😍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫🌶🌶🌶✔️ enemies to enemies with benefits to lovers✔️ best friend’s brother✔️ tragic upbringing✔️ possessive alpha male✔️ strong and sassy heroine✔️ top tier banterI just, brilliant. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read enemies to lovers, and Ana Huang does this superbly 👌Jules is the type of woman who wants to put her past behind her and make a meaningful life for herself. She wants to prove that she is capable of becoming the best lawyer she can be. She’s intelligent. She’s sassy. She’s got her friends back. But people judge and define her by her looks, and she is sick of it.Josh is protective and has issues trusting, always wanting to save people which is why he became a doctor. The person who he loves most is his sister Ava… but Ava’s best friend Jules has always been the carefree one in the friend group, always getting into shenanigans.Together, Jules and Josh have never got along… which makes their enemies with benefits arrangement even hotter 🔥🔥I love them. So much. Each have their own hang ups because of their pasts, and this is what makes them both so unique.Josh’s questionable actions are not good, but they make sense given his history of trust issues and betrayal.Jules feels the need to prove herself, which I can relate to deeply. This book is longer than Ana’s past books, but I love that because I got to see and experience Josh and Jules’ relationship slowly develop over time, and witness how two people with tragic pasts can share their vulnerabilities and fall in love.I only wish I could have seen more of Josh and Jules and their interactions with their friends, that’s what would have made this book perfect.

Another scorching emotional read from Ana Huang!
When it comes to Ana Huang books, you know you’re in for a wild ride. But it’s not just the exceptional steam that gets my attention about these books, it’s the depth of these characters, the trauma they’ve suffered and overcome, the strength that’s both obvious and hidden and the relationships they build with everyone else in the books. While Bridget and Rhys are always going to be my absolute favourite of the series, Jules and Josh blew me away. And it’s in part the intensity of these characters and in part the story that Ana managed to tell between all the hate and banter and beautifully explicit sex.Jules Ambrose and Josh Chen hate each other. Everyone knows it, they don’t try to hide it. They are constantly at each other’s throats, they bicker, argue and fight all the time. With them, there’s no holding back. It started when Jules and Ava (Josh’s sister and heroine from Twisted Love) were in college and sharing a dorm. Jules overheard something Josh said about her to Ava and she didn’t hold back on showing him just how little she cares about him. And to Josh, Jules has always come across as reckless and wild, which irritates him because he believes that if Jules is involved, Ava is going to get herself into a whole lot of trouble that he can’t save her from. And over the years, the hate and banter and rage has turned into simmering sexual tension that almost everyone around them can feel, so when they make a deal to enjoy an enemies with benefits situation, neither of them hesitate. Except, the more you sleep with someone, the more you see them for who they are and suddenly all those feelings you thought you never felt before bubble to the surface.I don’t think there are enough words for me to say to talk about how awesome this book was. So much happens in this book that I obviously can’t mention in my review, but what I can definitely tell you is that the sexual tension and chemistry in this book is insane. Jules and Josh spend a good part of the book snapping at each other, and I’m talking proper enemies to lovers situation here. They hate each other’s guts and don’t care about hurting the other person. Words spew out and it’s kinda intense. But, it’s also so well done. I enjoyed their wicked dialogue and the way they push each other’s buttons, I enjoyed watching Jules knock Josh down a peg or two. She’s all fire, and not just because of her red hair, Jules is bada** and she’s not going to let anybody stop her from living her life the way she wants. She fights for what she wants, she’s opinionated and forward, confident and passionate and even though life dealt her a bad hand at one point, she’s come a long way since her traumatising childhood to have something so great, she’s not going to let just anyone take it away from her. Josh, if you’ve read Twisted Love then you’ll know all of this, has been through his own share of crazy things—his father’s gone to prison, he almost lost his sister, he did lose his best friend—and through it all, he had to stand tall and strong and it’s taken a toll on him. Between that and his residency, Josh is basically stretched so thin that fighting with Jules is the highlight of his life.I loved the steam, as I always do with Ana’s books, but the thing that really got me was the slow build of Jules and Josh’s relationship. You know it’s coming, because DUH. But it’s the way it happens. It’s slow and then all of a sudden it just whacks you in the face. And I’m a sucker for romances where he falls first after spending a good portion of the book wanting to kill her. And watching Josh go through the motions of his feelings—denying, accepting, confusion, denying—was an absolute treat. I loved their friendship too and how they leaned on each other when they least expected it, how their lives changed because of the other person and how everything in their lives just made sense with each other. And, now that we’ve met the very delicious hero that gets to charm and win Stella over, I am even more curious about her book. I cannot wait for Twisted Lies, because if these first three books are anything to go by…it’s going to be truly awesome.

Breathtaking… ❤️
Jules and Josh just reminded me about a couple I used to know some years ago… 🫣We were young and stubborn, like them… and we were always getting on fire when together, also just like them. 😂Luck me I didn’t have a ‘Max’ in my life… and poor of me I didn’t have him at the end… 🤷🏻♀️Seriously,I liked so much the story. Besides Jules’ problems, the story ended in a perfect way.Ana writes with her heart, for sure!I’m looking forward to read about Stella and Christian…
