Polk Audio Monitor XT20 1" Terylene Tweeter & 6.5" Dynamically Balanced Woofer, Bookshelf Speaker (PAIR) Black

I have never used Pol audio before, but a fellow musician recommended it and I started reading up. Then I figured in my budget these XT20's were the only ones. I read up and did more study as sadly there isn't a place where I could go and check out multiple speaker brands myself. Thankfully the internet was of much help, saw these are and picked them up. Sounds amazing, a full clarity spectrum even without subs, sounds clean, no audible distortions even at higher volumes though I listen not at a very high volume. The lows are well defined, the mids are juicy and the highs are very well defined. Loving listening to music on these, infact I am listening more and enjoying it so much. Love it! Though in India it is costly due to customs charges. Paired with Marantz PM6007 and having fun. Also bought Auris blueMe for BT streaming. My first audiophile system.

I Purchased and tested the Audio Bronze 100, Elac Debut 5.2, Jamo 803 and the Polk Xt 20'sAs it happens I ended up keeping the Jamo's, but only due to the fact they suited the room design better, the Polks where simply superb, neither the Polk, Jamo, or Audio Bronze needed a sub for normal listening, TV speakers or PC with Amazon HD music, The Polks price is staggeringly good value for money

Great speakers, well built at a reasonable price and even better when on sale. Treble and bass are well maintained even at high volume. Surprisingly there is a lot of bass from these speakers even on the lower end Hz range, and can compliment any AVR with or without a subwoofer. Highly recommend this speakers either as a 2.0 set-up or as front or rear surrounds in a 5.1+ set-up.

These are good speakers for the price range. I wanted these because my Yamaha speakers are just way too strong and they push alot of bass.So these new Polk speakers are very strong and I run 2 channels of the Yamaha amp at intervals going up to flat out power 125w per channel.After some equaliser adjustments these little speakers pumped hard.. I am happy I have a speaker I can control now and they don't vibrate my apartment to hell like the Yamaha speakers do.For around $440.00 I recommend these Polk speakers big tine.. I have an expensive Yamaha amplifier and these did very well.

デスクトップ環境のスピーカーをMXT20に買い替えました。オーディオメインの用途ではないレビューになります。最近アクティブスピーカー市場で流行りの傾向である｢モニターサウンド｣という言葉をよく目にするため、このシリーズもMonitor XTという名前からしてモニターライクな音を連想させますが、これは｢手頃な価格で良い音を｣というPOLKの伝統的なMonitorシリーズという意味の名称になっています。当製品をモニタースピーカーと呼称してレビューしておられる方もいましたので注意が必要です。MXT20は音の解像度はそこまで高くなく、柔らかな温かい音です。高域が前に出てくる鋭さがなく良い意味で音がバラけるので、このサイズのスピーカーを近距離で鳴らしても自分の周りが音に包まれているような感覚になり心地良さを感じます。聞き疲れもしません。シアター構成のサラウンドでMXT15を採用しているため、両者を聞き比べましたが小音量でもMXT15よりMXT20の方が良い音が出ます。MXT20に決めるにあたり、このサイズが許す環境なら上位のReserve R100も検討しましたが、上位モデルたちは精密で明瞭ですが、価格なりの本領を発揮するにはある程度の距離をとった方が扱いやすいです。対してMXT20は音が広がりやすい傾向があり、このサイズでありながらPCデスク用途という超ニアフィールドの使用にも向くという上位シリーズにはない利点があります。これがMonitor XTが入門用という立ち位置のおかげで、距離にとらわれない設置のしやすさにも繋がっているように感じます。デスク上でのニアフィールド対策として、写真の通りスタンドで底上げし本体を上下反転しています。この設置が不安なくできる筐体なのも嬉しい点です。何を鳴らしてもある程度の良い音ですが、やはり音楽をじっくり聴きたい時は写真の端にかすかに映っているNS-F500を使うほどには差は感じます。完全3wayのフロア型と比べるのは酷ですが。R100と比べてもほぼ全ての音楽ジャンルで上を行かれますが、メタルやロック、EDMはMXT20の方が合っていました。私の用途は上記の曲調と似た傾向になる動画やゲーム、youtubeなどのPCの日常使いがメインで、作業用にジャズを流すのでMXT20の前に出てくる明るい特性がマッチしています。日常使いのアンプはZA3を使用します。このアンプのクリアな特性にR100などのピュアオーディオスピーカーを組み合わせてPCで質の悪い圧縮音源をメインにした場合、解像度の長所が逆に音の悪さを暴いてしまう聴き辛さになる懸念もありました。オーディオ用途が多いパッシブスピーカーをPC使用目的にした場合、MXT20の””音の緩さ””はたぶん正解で、しかもこのサイズのスピーカーをデスクで鳴らせる事でPCで遊ぶ時間がリッチになり、音は大事だと再認識しました。なら高度なDSP補正のあるアクティブスピーカーでいいのでは？とも思います。確かに中高域の明瞭さは負けるかもしれません。しかしほとんどのアクティブスピーカーはサブウーファーを追加して完成するシステムで、私はサブウーファーが苦手で気が付くと使わなくなっていました。日常使いでサブの低周波はかすかでも疲れる、でも気持ちの良い低域は欲しい人にもMXT20はいいかもしれません。MXT20は非常に評価が高いですが、価格的にも高望みは厳禁です。しかし価格も性能であり、なおかつこの音なら全てを黙らせる納得感はあります。長く付き合っていけるスピーカーだと感じました。

So I am not an audiophile. I do like good sounding music though. And I am of the age that I remember simply epic amplifiers, speakers and stereos in just about everybody's houses. In my own house in the 80s and 90s, you could crank the music so loud and it would nearly deafen you, and that's with what my mom had bought at the local electronics store.Fast forward to today and we have nothing of that caliber. The soundbar is the closest thing to a home stereo system. AI assistants pump out OK sounding endless shuffles, vaguely in the direction you are feeling.So I made it my job to change that. I bought a decent turntable, a troubling amount of vinyl and an ... ok all-in-one amp+speaker system. I'm not going to name it, but it was lackluster to say the least.It got me yearning for that literal blast from the past. The boom of bass and that wall of sound. Did I find it in my XT20s? Yeah I did. It rocks.First, these things can get loud, good news there. They have larger woofers, 6.5" and they make noise. No, these aren't 12" subs on the floor like the old days, but on the other hand, they are lighter and look pretty cool.Setting it up? Well, pretty easy to attach speaker wire, but the road to here was long. You need an amp and preamp, turntable, these speakers. But my music sounds good again though; the house thumps. I put on music for the family like the old days. I'm very happy with the purchase.For those audiophiles who don't love just the "feels". I did do a lot of youtube research to find the best bang for the buck. I know there's other good brands out there, but let's just agree that this is one of them too. It's also super easy to find a sale and the are delivered quickly. I love the look and they make nice sounding noise. Easy recommend.
