Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Omnibus Collection 1 (Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou: Deluxe Edition)

The 5 stars is for the story, just in case someone is turned off by a lower score. This book is utterly beautiful. It is definitely slow paced, but it works in its favour. If you're on the edge please give this a go, it is the most calming thing I have read. This print isn't brilliant unfortunately as the quality does away with some of the details that really bring the art to life, but it is currently the only way to read this book for English readers.

Read a fan-translated version of this a while back. Fell in love with the story, and when this deluxe version popped up on Amazon, I had to get it. It's filled with melancholy and wonder.

Não tem muito o que fazer, Yokohama é um dos mangás mais lindos já feitos e poder ler na mão é um prazer que não esperava que fosse possível. A edição é linda, com páginas em cores maravilhosas. Esse mangá talvez mereceria um hard-cover ou um tamanho um pouco maior, mas essa edição aqui entrega o esperado com excelência.

It's really sad to say this, but you should stay away from this release of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. I really love the story itself, but the quality of this release is extremely poor. I think they had no digital version of this old manga available, so they scanned it with really terrible settings. Now everything looks extremely dark, to the point where many details can't be seen at all. Maybe you could still enjoy some other manga like this, but Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou heavily relies on its artstyle and light shadings to create an atmosphere, it's a huge part of the experience. I really can't recommend this release in any way.

The paper quality is good,the book arrived in optimal condition and what can i say about the manga? Its the best!

It’s lovely to see YKK in print in English, and the manga is as wonderful as I remembered. Sadly, though, for a supposedly “deluxe” edition, this is printed on cheap newsprint paper. It could have been, and should have been, so much better.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is one of the, if not the most relaxing manga I've ever read! I absolutely loved this first omnibus volume and will definitely buy the other ones! I highly recommend anyone to read this manga! It's worth it.
