Careful Storing CPL in Camera Bag...You May Lose It
This is my 2nd MagFilter....lost the 1st somewhere, putting in and out of camera pouch on my backpack. Best to store in the MagFilter pouch that comes with the product. To improve the security of the MagFilter pouch, I added a couple of Velcro dots/coins (photo) to hold the flap closed. The adhesive rings are easy to install, wiping the lens surface with alcohol first, then centering the rings and pressing to finish. The rings are a perfect fit for my Sony RX-100-M7, Lumix DC-ZS70, and my Canon G15. So one CPL can do duty on 3 cameras. The CPL tested out to be circular polarizer. LCD displays emit linearly polarized light. Take a look at an LCD display through your polarizer and rotate it. Then look through the other side of the CPL at the LCD screen. It will dim/brighten as you rotate looking through the one direction, and will not dim when looking through the CPL in the other direction. This feature will insure the polarized light will not interfere with the camera's focus and metering. The box say the MagFilter is made in China, but the CPL clearly has made in Japan etched. This is a quality product, and the clever magnetic designs allows the CPL to be easily used on multiple cameras. Just be careful keeping it on the lens, and putting the camera in and out of the camera pouch. The magnet is reasonable strong, but will not hold the CPL if brushed against the pouch.

This filter literally SAVED my new Canon G7X Mark II Camera!!!!
Soooo glad I purchased this filter because it protected my NEW camera's lens from ugly/expensive damage!!! Allow me to explain.A few months ago, I purchased a brand new Canon G7X Mark II camera and a MagFilter 42mm CPL (Circular Polarizer) Filter. I wanted the 42mm because the edges do not show in photos and videos. As a recipe developer/food blogger, I take food photos and film recipe videos for my blog, www.CornbreadMillionaire.com. Since 2014, I've used a Canon PowerShot A1100 IS and it still works GREAT. However, it was time to upgrade. I LOVE Canon so I purchased the super popular G7X MARK II.Whenever I use my G7X camera, I ALWAYS make sure the filter is on to protect the lens. WISE DECISION!Two weeks ago, I was in the kitchen working on my Green Sauce recipe and had a little accident. My new G7X Mark II camera accidentally fell "lens first" into the bowl of Green Sauce. I snatched it out before it was totally submerged and carefully cleaned the camera and filter... before removing the filter. The tightly secured filter protected the camera's lens. NOT one drop of sauce touched the lens. The sauce did not penetrate the camera either. In fact, my camera is in EXCELLENT CONDITION!! It still takes clear photos and clear videos. Hallelujah!!I could not get the filter cleaned properly so I ordered a new one. No problem. Much better than spending $600 to purchase a new G7X Mark II!!!I highly recommend purchasing this filter to protect the lens of your camera.

Just What I Needed for Canon G7X
Ever since I bought my Canon Powershot G7X I have tried to figure out how to add a polarizing filter. This is the perfect solution. The magnetized filter ring easily sticks onto the front of the camera and does not interfere with the lens cover closure. The filter snaps right on and is easy to use. The polarizing effect is very good but be careful as I found it can easily over-polarize a scene. I did have one problem when cleaning the filter with lens cleaning solution. Some solution got between the layers of the filter. I contacted Kamera customer service and they replaced the filter under the warranty. However, I was able to later dry out the original filter using rice and I can use it once again.

Best enhancement for a pocket camera.
Wow, finally a polarizer that fits my pocket camera! I do a lot of shooting with my DSLR, but there are times I can't take all my gear. So I have a Sony DSC-RX100, an advanced pocket camera that has all the same creative and manual controls that my big camera has. But, no filter attachments. I can simulate most effects in Photoshop if I need to, but you can't simulate a polarizer, and you can't get the same clarity and deep color in daylight without it.This works great. The magnetic ring stays securely on my lens, and the filter pops on and off easier than a traditional threaded ring. It holds secure. One thing- it came with two rings and no instructions. I thought at first one was for the camera and the other for the filter. But, you just apply one to the lens and the other is, I assume, a spare. Some reviewers said the filter will fall out of the supplied pouch. I don't see how that's possible if used correctly. The pouch has a top flap that overlaps the slot, you just have to make sure it's pulled over the opening, it holds securely.

The magnet wasn't strong enough
I am so bummed. I was so excited to go out and use this filter on my new camera when I went for my hike. I thought it was supposed to stay on the camera but when we got done and I took the camera out of the bag I bought for it, the filter was gone. I can't even rate it since I never got to use it because apparently it fell off and dropped when I took it out to take a picture. Great idea but it didn't work for me. The ring stayed on the camera but the filter was gone!

42mm fits the Canon G7X Mk II, and mates perfectly with ACMAXX UV FILTER
I purchased the 42mm. It fits the Canon G7X Mark II perfectly. This filter is good for daylight bright sunlight, but for lower light it's not ideal because it's tinted and you'll lose a few F-stops. I realized this after I started using it, and decided a wanted a neutral filter that's not tinted to protect the lens in low light also.So I bought the ACMAXX Multi-Coated LENS ARMOR UV FILTER for Canon Powershot G7X Digital Camera, thinking it would preclude me from using this product, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the ACMAXX filter's outside diameter is EXACTLY the same as the inside diameter of the Magfilter mounting ring! The images show them coexisting. This allows me to use the ACMAXX all the time and attach/detach the Magfilter CPL when desired. This is a perfect pair for full-time use. Very happy to have found this out, and wanted to pass it on.
