Needs to be oiled
I did not like this shredder at first. It did not work as we expected. My husband started using shredder oil. I learned how to set the paper in hight and to seperate papers more. I love this shredder now. We have done 3 lawn bags of papers in no time. Keeping it and happy to do it. Thanks!Great job for the money. Quiet and easy to use once you figure it out. Did not have proble.s with over heating. I used a smaller shredder for small pieces.

It is a perfect heavy duty shredder for our home office.
Coming from a manual feed shredder this thing is great! We can fill it up, let it go to work, and do other things while it does the heavy lifting. We are using it in our home office, with lots of very old documents to dispose of. Not sure how it would be in a commercial setting, but for us it’s almost perfect. Only wish it would do credit cards and paper clips. But for old files, we could not be happier.

Works Great
It does what it's supposed to do. The top can hold more paper to shred than the trash bin can hold so you have to constantly dump the shredded paper and that is extremely annoying and really slows down the process.I tweaked it a little to make it work more efficiently.Overall I'm happy with it and how well it works.

doesnt last
Product didnt last more than 1.25 years. Disappointing. Blades became dull and jammed frequently. Lubricated as per instructions and kept clean. In spite of that, stopped feeding and shredding.

Overly impressed!
I love doing reviews and if you like more in-depth video reviews, definitely check out my YouTube channel "OndaWire" where I give pros and cons on everything I test. Since I've been working at home, paperwork from my job and other projects have been piling up. I had a small paper shredder and was looking for something bigger. I came across this GBC Paper Shredder about a month ago and here are my pros and cons.Pros:1. The BIGGEST feature I love about this paper shredder is now I do not have to worry about taking the staples or paper clips off of paper when I want to shred. Before I would have to rip off the corners of papers that were staple together or go through papers and remove paper clips and now I do not have to! I absolutely love this.2. The 2nd biggest feature I love about this paper shredder is now instead of having to shred pieces of paper five at a time I can now just accumulate a stack of paper and drop it in and it will shred it on its own. I no longer have to sit back and wait.3. This paper shredder is quiet. I was not expecting it to be as quiet as it is.4. This paper shredder cross cut everything! Utilizing this paper shredder, I can tell you that you will not have to worry about anyone being able to piece together what you have shredded. I would always advise getting a crosscut paper shredder over just a regular shredder5. With my old paper shredder after I used it for about five or 10 minutes I would have to wait at least 20 to 30 minutes for it to cool down. This actually has a center on it that tells you when the paper shredder is warming up and it completely takes the guessing out of if I should stop or if I should keep going.6. This GBC Paper Shredder is super easy to use. All you do is plug in the power cable and flip the power switch on in the back and you are good to go. There is zero programming and having to download software.7. I really love how deep the bin is. Unlike your small typical paper shredder been this one holds up to 11 pounds of paper. I could literally use this paper shredder for months before having the dump it. I added a picture to show how deep it was so I hope the pitcher helps.8. The price is a bit steep but if you want a paper shredder that is going to last and do the things that this GBC Paper Shredder can do, it is totally worth of moneyCons:1. It is really large. I added a picture to show with a tape measure that it stands 2ft tall. Being 2ft, it's not a paper shredder that you can easily fit under your desk. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE at all, but I just wanted to point it out so if you are looking for a paper shredder to go under your desk, this might not work unless your desk is tall.Overall, I would highly recommend this. I am definitely giving it a 5***** star rating and would highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a paper shredder that is going to save you time and protect the things that you are shredding.

Better not have a problem requiring parts or customer service
This overall rating is review is based on GBC and their customer support and not the shredder. The shredder was delivered from Amazon within 2 days. The box showed no evidence of damage and the machine was well packaged. Upon setting it up, I noticed that 1 of 2 plastic roller clips just on the inside of the bin had been broken during assembly or shipping. I immediately called GBC customer service looking for the replacement clip which is 1" long and I am sure is a $0.30 part. I was told via a chat with their customer service and a phone call to their warranty department that they do not carry parts for any of their smaller machines as they are all made overseas and no parts are provided. Their recommended course of action is for me to box the whole thing back up and send it back to Amazon and order another one. The shredder seems to work just fine but they want me to return and reorder a $250+ machine for a $0.30 part.I knew I should have bought another Fellows Shredder.

Working very well for us
I had seen a few of the reviews when I requested this so I've taken a lot of time to use it but I'm just not having any problems with it.I work for a large rescue mission. At any given time we have 130 or so residents in various programs, plus 100 transient quarters and also have public meals. It means, for one thing, lots and lots of paperwork.Neither I nor any of the other office workers have had any trouble with the feeder. No jams, it eats staples right up, and it does a very good job. It's a P4, not the highest destroyer of paper, but it's cross cut so provides the legal requirement for personal data.Everyone says they haven't put paper clips through so I don't know about that claim but the slot for credit cards works great for the laminated ID cards and odd CD.It's not what I'd call quiet but it's not overly noisy either. I have a smaller (50) home shredder that's a P6 and it makes more noise than this 150 P4. It hasn't disturbed anyone in the office. We keep paper grocery bags and use those in the bin. It's all very neat and tidy.So as critical and picky as I usually am, I can't find anything to fuss about.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many everyday things you buy will generate a small donation from Amazon to the charity of your choice at no cost to you.
