I have read both good and bad reviews about this product, but in my experience, it has been very good. I had been looking for a way to save time in my personal care routine, especially for my underarms, and this machine has been very helpful. It does not hurt me, it is easy to use, and the hair takes longer to grow back. It also has several functions: it epilates and shaves, which I love. For me, it has been a very good purchase, and I hope it continues working this well for a long time.

I had wanted an epilator for years, but I was honestly terrified to try it. I finally decided to give this super affordable one a chance, and it has genuinely been a game changer! here is my completely honest experience: yes, it does hurt at first! but your skin adapts remarkably fast. on my first leg, the pain was only there at the very beginning, and after a short moment, I couldn't feel a thing! making the second leg so much easier. underarms were amazingly quick, taking less than two minutes each. I will say, the bikini area was quite intense and ended up being the most painful part. it took me two separate sessions to complete, but the results were entirely worth it. the hair is growing back noticeably finer than it ever did with professional waxing!!! a few practical tips if you're thinking of trying it: exfoliate your skin daily for a few days leading up to your session & take a warm shower right before using it to open your pores and soften the skin! the only tiny drawback is that the machine is a bit noisy

This epilator was definitely not as bad as I thought, especially after going through countless reviews on this item. I bought this primarily for my armpits because I’m an active person who has my armpits visible a lot, and also because shaving sometimes just isn’t convenient (especially with razor burn and ingrown hairs). I have never waxed my armpits either, so this was my first time doing true hair removal. After turning it on, it is 1000% more intimidating than it looks. You kind of just have to go for it and little by little it will be easier to use. I also think the plastic, spiked rollers found on the epilator attachment are actually very helpful with the pain. Imo, I think it helps just because it warms my arms up a little before using the epilator. It got almost all of my hairs (just missing the ones that are super duper short) and it only took me about 25-30 mins total. However, I did notice how a lot of people claimed it was “super easy” and “gentle” to use, and I do think that’s misleading just because something like this for a new user just can’t be painless, although it is 100% bearable. I played some music with my airpods in to distract myself from the noise and took short breaks when I needed them and it helped a lot. My armpits are a little tender and I did experience some light bleeding but it stopped shortly after. Overall, this was definitely worth it considering I know what to expect the next time I use it :).

I love this epilator!!! I've had another epilator for years, and it was kinda weak compared to this one, slow and didn't remove everything. I hesitated to buy a new epilator, because I wasn't sure it would be any different. Well, I was wrong! I took me roughly 15 minutes to epilate both legs and remove maybe 90% of the (long enough) hairs. The result was decent, but my legs still weren't smooth as there were lots of very short hairs left. I thought well okay, the epilator probably won't be able to get them, so I'll do another session tomorrow. But then I noticed that even those very short hairs can be removed if I use the epilator VERY slowly and control the angle. So, to remove the rest 10% requires to be more specific and takes more time. Sometimes I need to go over the same area several times, but the epilator WORKS!! My old one just wasn't able to remove such short hairs. Overall, it takes about an hour to actually remove alllll the hairs, but I love the process in weird way, it's so meditating lol. I know some people find it painful, and I know what you mean! I've been epilating my legs since I was 15, and I remember how painful the first time was (lol...), my skin was incredibly sensitive. But after a few times it got better and I even started to enjoy the process (lol again!). Even if I skip a few MONTHS for one reason or another, my tolerance stays the same. I don't know how it works but yeah. No pain. But I want to warn people that this is just another epilator that works by removing hair, and literally all of them feel the same. You can't find one that works with no pain (in case you find it painful). So I'd recommend to do this: start slowly by preparing your skin. Pluck some hairs here and there using tweezers. This will 1) help you build some tolerance and 2) make it less painful to use the epilator since there will be fewer hairs left. Do this for a few days, just remove 10, 20 or 30 hairs every day from different areas. It's not as painful to pluck one hair at a time. Then when you think you're ready, shave your legs. NEXT day take a warm shower to make your skin softer. Then try to epilate. Hopefully, you won't feel much pain because the hairs will be very short (if they're still TOO short, try to epilate next day) and because you've prepared your skin and built some tolerance by plucking hairs. This was my method when I epilated my armpits for the first time, because it was literally impossible to epilate them with no preparation!! If it's still painful, try to keep the epilator at one area (do not move it). It will remove hairs for 1 sec and you will feel some pain for a short period of time, but after that there will be fewer hairs on that area, so you'll be able to tolerate it much better. Alternatively, try moving the epilator very quickly so that it removes very few hairs from various areas, not several hairs at the same time. Try to find what works best for you. If it's too overwhelming, stop and try next day, epilate every day for a couple of minutes. Trust me, you will soon be able to epilate legs like it's your hobby! I swear it's not painful at all, especially when I'm not lazy and epilate often while all the hairs haven't grown back yet. It's much easier to do this every day or at least twice a week than once a month. After the procedure, I moisturize my legs with the Kikumasamune emulsion (not the lotion/toner!). I'm in love with it, it's very cheap in stores with Asian skincare products, is easy to spread, has a cooling effect, absorbs really quickly, moisturizes and calms the skin down. I also use it on my face. A COUPLE OF CONS: - pretty loud. Just be aware if this factor is important for you. I'd prefer it to be quieter. - the built-in light can't be turned off. Not a deal breaker, just would be nice if it was possible to turn it off sometimes. When the room is well-lit, the little light makes it harder to see the hairs, but again, I'm totally okay with that. - not cordless. I'd give it 4.5 starts if I could but decided to give 5 stars for overall performance and the results. I hope they make a quieter and cordless version one day!

TL;DR - If you're looking at this to epilate your legs, don't even consider it. If it's for smaller areas like upper lip, bikini line (maybe), and armpits, it's alright I guess. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was still disappointed. I’ve been using an epilator from the late 70s or 80s that my mom passed down. Despite its age, it still works perfectly.. it pulls out every hair, rarely breaks them, and gives me weeks of smooth results. The epilator head is basically 80% tweezers. They move from one side to the other, opening and closing. The only reason I considered a replacement is that its power cable has finally started acting up. After 40+ years, I thought someone would have made real improvements in this departments. I was WRONG. This new epilator is almost identical in size and shape. But unfortunately the head has very few spread out tiny tweezers, so I had to go over a 2 cm patch 7-8 times to take out all of the 12 hairs there were (?). Doing my legs took + 40 minutes, and the results were patchy. Worse, about 60% of hairs were just cut at the surface instead of pulled from the root, leaving uneven regrowth for weeks. The only part of this purchase that’s truly useful is the cable, which I’ll be using with my old epilator. My crusty epilator still outperforms this one by far.

I have had a Chinese made epilator for many years that I absolutely loved. When I lost it recentlyI was worried I wasn’t going to find another one that worked as well. Well, let me just say I wish I had lost my Chinese epilator years ago. Every blonde woman with a hairy upper lip, or should I say, fine haired mustache knows that there are longer hairs, then there are shorter hairs, and then there are shorter hairs, and then there are longer hairs of those shorter finer hairs. With the last one I owned, It had a plastic safety guard on it, which I liked, so it didn’t actually get too close to hurt me . However, It would never get those “ longer finer” hairs unlessI took the safety plastic piece off the device. I got used to using it that way, and learned how to use it without tearing my skin apart. But there were times when I first got it, however, that I did end up giving myself scabs from the device (definitely a learning curve). Not with this one, though. This one does not get the tiny tiny little hairs that no one can really see unless they are deliberately looking for them very closely with their glasses on. But it does get the longer of the finer hairs. No one cares about those tiny tiny little hairs that no one can see anyway. The only thing that can get those is a razor. So basically what I’m saying is, this device gets more of the hair off and it does it in about 1/8th of the time of some other epilators. It doesn’t have the plastic piece guard that my other one had, yet it still doesn’t skin my face when I try to Get closer to the skin. It didn’t work straight out of the box. I had to put it on the charger in order to get it to start working. But I’m sure once it’s charged it will work fine without the charger. And even if it doesn’t, the way it works being hooked up to the charger deserves a full five stars as it is. It’s only been one use, but I am very very, very, very happy with the results. It’s a bit scary at first Because you feel like it’s gonna get too close and it might be scratching your skin up. But it’s not. It’s simply pulling out the hair and that is what you were feeling. I would highly recommend this epilator to anyone with more hair on their upper lip than desired. I would definitely repurchase if something happened to this one. Braun, please don’t change this epilator unless you’re actually going to make it better, which I don’t know how you can because it works very very well as it is.

I have been using epilators for about 20 years. When I read the reviews saying this was painful, it seemed like the comments were coming from first-time users who had never used an epilator before. Switching to an epilator is painful in the beginning, but as people said, after a few uses, you get used to it and over time it is much less painful. So, I bought this when my last epilator gave up the ghost. Well, it was incredibly painful and ineffective to boot. It caused irritation to my underarms, which I did first. That can happen sometimes - the skin is more sensitive, so I thought I would power through those and the legs would go better. The legs were not much better, to be honest! The epilator was really painful and didn't pull my hair as efficiently as my previous one. It took three times as long and left too much behind. I didn't even go near the bikini line out of fear for what this would do to my skin. I also suspect that many hairs weren't pulled, just broken off close to the skin, so we'll see if I'm right over the next couple of weeks. The irritation to my underarms lasted a few days. Anytime I had that in the past, usually it would clear up overnight or within 24 hours. My notes on the model: I would suggest to add more tweezers (my last epilator was a Phillips and had seemingly double or triple the number of tweezers in the roller). My other suggestion would be to drop the massage bar/pointy things. Both in the bar itself and in the rollers. They were unnecessarily sharp and really made this whole experience much more painful. I have a very high tolerance for pain and again, I have been using epilators for 20+ years. I know what to expect and this was just awful. The rollers and pointy stuff also made it much more difficult to move the epilator around in various directions. I basically felt like I could only go in a straight line, whereas with my previous machine, I could move it around in different directions. This is especially helpful over the calves, for example, where hairs grow in different directions on different parts of the calf. Anyway, I was very disappointed and have returned the machine. The pain people report shouldn't be that bad! Take it from someone who knows.

I love this tool!! I’m brand new to epilating, but not hair removal from the root. My main method of hair removal for most of my life has been waxing. I’m a hairy woman with course, thick hair. I dislike the 5 o’clock shadow of shaving, so I’ve only used it periodically and in case of emergencies. I’ve also used threading (the most painful method), at home laser, and shaving in emergencies (but my least favorite hair removal method). I’m brand new to epilating but thankfully have thinned out my hair from consistent waxing. I will compare the pros and cons of epilating to waxing. Keep in mind, today is my second day of using the machine. -yesterday I used the machine for my chin hairs and sideburns. It was sensitive, not painful. About equal discomfort as waxing, less than individual testing (because of the built-in massage?). I was nervous because of the negative reviews, so I went slow. It went well, no skin irritation. Since yesterday went well, I fired up the epilator at the high speed this evening and went nuts! Here’s what I’ve gathered this far: Pros: 1. Time saver Today, I completed both of my legs (thigh and calf), my forearms, my cheeks, and upper lip… ALL in about an hour!!! This is significantly less time than waxing (which I’ve been practicing for the last 15 years)! Remember you save time in the prepping & cleaning up after waxing either (I.e. warm the wax, wait for the right temp, showering & cleaning the residue of the body and workspace). 2. Mess-free! I did this while watching TV on the couch. Sure, there’s probably a bunch of hair in my living room, but it’s probably minimal compared to how much my two dogs shed. It’s also better on my hardwood floors than it is In the shower Drain (as with shaving). 10x better than the wax residue all over the place! 3. Cheap!!. I spent 1.5 times as much I’d spend on a bag of wax. During the summer months, I typically go through a bag in a couple of months . If this machine lasts me 3 months I’d get my moneys worth (not insulting the cost of the wax warmer, sticks, etc.) 4. Works on shorter hair (1/8”) than waxing (1/4”), so it’s better for exposed areas. Con: -this model us not battery operated! I was under that impression, but that part just looks like false advertising Honestly, I really like this method a lot so I will probably get a battery operated version so I can use this while sitting in the the car! Hopefully I don’t get toO many ingrown hairs. I prepped my skin by exfoliating in the shower before starting my legs. I can update my review after several treatments. Overall a very positive experience and you can’t go wrong for $35! I was ready to drop the thousands of dollars for professional laser…. I’m making this my new go to method!

After trying a lot of different hair removal methods, I've come to really love epilation. It lasts longer, so you don't have to do it every couple days, and it's less painful and definitely less expensive than other long-term hair removal solutions. The device: Works great right out of the box. If you've never used an epilator before, you might be surprised by how loud it is, but it's no louder than any other similar device. I like that it's small and compact, so it's easy to store, use, and even travel with if you plan on going somewhere for an extended time. The only drawback is that the device must be plugged in to use, but the cord is nice and long and honestly, I prefer plug-in devices as opposed to ones that die halfway through using because they need to be charged, or that eat batteries. If you're new to epilation, definitely give this a try, as it delivers results in a compact, easy to use unit. It works on hair that is significantly shorter than you need to have when waxing, so you really only need to have 3-4 days of regrowth (after shaving) for it to be effective, as opposed to the weeks you might need to wait to get the length required for other methods. Epilation: Because you're plucking hairs out from the root, and multiple ones at a time, it's not going to be painless. I found when I started, the first use was the worst, as the hair is going to be the thickest and it's going to be pulling out the most at once. For me, the feeling is somewhere between a tattoo and a razor burn, so not excruciating, but not comfortable either. As you use it over the hair's natural growth cycle (different hairs will grow at different rates), you're pulling out less at a time, so it becomes significantly less painful after the first use. Unlike razors and waxing, epilators only take out the hair, so you're not taking the top layer of skin, too. I found it to be significantly less painful than waxing (especially when you chicken out and can't pull the strip off as quickly as you're supposed to), and as someone who is prone to razor burn, I can say that the brief discomfort of the epilator is preferable to experiencing burning skin from razor burn for days at a time., and I experience far fewer ingrown hairs than I did with shaving.

Wouldn't really write a review for a product but this one is amazing. Going from a cheap knockoff brand that ripped my skin out and left a huge scar I was deterred from epilators. I was getting frustrated over shaving my light hair so on a whim tried this one out from a friend recommendation. It does everything so well, works on underarms and legs and arms amazing. Couldn't recommend this product enough.
