A literary classic. I have read this as a schoolgirl and now again as an adult. The constant battle between Jekyll and Hyde set against the backdrop of a dark, industrial London is enough to keep any reader interested. The perfect gothic novel.

There is so much to say about this book, but so little to read about it.My favourite kind of story: epistolary, and it’s carried out in a pleasing fashion.Without spoiling the delicious plot I’ll let you know that I had become diligently analytical of every single page upon reading it, and it will not disappoint you as a reader.Do not be afraid of the dark and mysterious atmosphere of Victorian London— go ahead, buy this book, indulge yourself in the plot, and become as intoxicated by it as I am.

I haven't read yet but I've no doubt it will be brilliant! Well made and sturdy book. Fairly priced.

It's always interesting to read an iconic classic; particularly if it's entered the popular culture and / or become a film / movie. Ofen that means they're shorter than you expect, and not quite what you expect. This is one such case. I can see that the concept / story itself would have been shocking or sensational at the time, but society has changed and we're also reading this work after it entered the popular culture. So don't expect anything as shocking as American Psycho (which would be its equivalent), because everything was different in the 1880s.
