Gefilte Fish By Old Vienna Rokeach 16 Pieces / 4 Lb Jar

First of all, there is no finer gefilte fish than Rokeach Old Vienna. Now, my people are from the other side of the line— I “should” like the other kind, but I don’t! It’s better than family recipes, for SURE.Now, I need this large size for recipes: I make this gefilte “mousse” with chopped up spring onions, hearts of palm, red pepper, artichokes. I make it like Whole Foods’ Mediterranean tuna fish! Even non gefilte fish folks pronounce it “not bad”!It’s better to order this size online. You don’t want to take a chance in the car. Plus, your part of the world may not sell the delicious Rokeach brand.I actually had occasion to speak with the seller on the phone and he is so nice!!! Happy Pesach, everyone!!

didnt realize this was a sweet gefilte fish

Hint from my Mom. Season fish with garlic powder, pepper and paprika. Bake at 300 degrees with liquid for about 45 minutes basting occasionally.Tastes like homemade. My grandfather never knew it was from a jar. Best of all the brands.

The Cost for this product is grossly over priced. At $32.95 I would not buy it. During Passover, we paid $9.00 for the same product, the Rokeach Gilfilte Fish Old Vienna, Sweet, 4 Lb. jar (16 pieces) at a Costco Store in Phoenix. The product is the best on the market, but not for $32.95..

Gefilte fish ... in Oklahoma? Actually, Oklahoma has healthy, vibrant Jewish communities in Tulsa and Oklahoma City; but gefilte fish, kinishes, etc., not so much. These "exotic" items and others are available in stores here, but they are difficult to find. Thank goodness for amazon's easy-to-locate sources for some of the tradition's best "foods." The source I use on amazon for this delicious fish, Hiett Holdings, has excellent prices, securely packages its products, and ships quickly. If you like gefilte fish and are having trouble finding it where you are, give Hiett Holdings and Rokeach a try.UPDATE: July 2014"Hiatt Holdings" seems to be hiding (sorry!). It is no longer offering this product on amazon.com. While other companies are still selling the item at this site, their prices are double what Hiatt was charging. Maybe its price was unsupportable. Alas.

I particularly enjoy the Old Vienna recipe of the Gefilte fish. I have always purchased it a Costco for Passover but they no longer carry it. I am amazed at how quickley the order arrived. Now that I know you have this I will be ordering it. Hoping you have it during the year and not just at Passover. Thanks so much

It was great. Our supermarket carries 5 different brands and types but not this particular one.It is the one I got used to years ago, still as good now as it was then. 😀😀😀
