Very Practicial, Step by Step, Easy to Understand - Will Make an Amazing Partnership!
I LOVE this, and I want to do this with my new horse! What a great way to have the best relationship with your horse, and how safe he would be after learning all these things. I just got back into horses after a 20 year hiatus and just bought a Lipizzaner one week ago, who will be an excellent prospect for these types of activities. There is even a program where you send videos of yourself with your horse as you do tests to work through the levels, which I intend to do.

Horse Agility
The author has an obvious passion for her horses & the sport of horse agility. The instructions are clear, simple & easy to understand and include information on how a horse learns & thinks. It also includes how to make some obstacles, how to organise a competition and what to look for when judging. Overall it is a great book to introduce the sport and encourage people to give it a go. However, horses are complex and there are some behaviours and situations that are not covered by this book and the horse person should seek assistance from an experienced liberty instructor. Aside from that, I love playing at liberty with my horse & truly hope horse agility becomes a recognised sport.

And now for something completely different!
This book is superb. With all the groundwork that is advised by various trainers, it is surprising this didn't occur to someone sooner. This is a really well thought out way of training your horse, without the necessity of riding. The main essence is the total bond and willingness of the horse/pony to do these courses because they enjoy it. You aren't touching them so it is totally voluntary and you cannot improve on that. Now if you cannot ride for whatever reason here is a superb alternative to enjoy with your horse/pony.

So much fun!
Wonderful book! Easy to read with great pictures and lots of ideas for making obstacles - my 2 year old Rocky Mountain mare and I are having lots of fun practicing agility and building our relationship together! I'm so glad I bought this book and the accompanying DVD for us!

Horse Agility Handbook
Book is well written and presents a lot of information. For those that already have a "natural horsemanship" background and are already used to working their horse through different obstacles, I feel the book needs more of the agility patterns. More direction on how to set-up a competition and adjust the courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels giving more detail on what is required to advance to the next level, etc.

Beware a "Bunny Hugger"
If you are a fan of Linda Tellington Jones you will probably love this book, The author obviously does not understand the use of artificial aids on horses and considers them abusive. Other than that it is not a bad book. The ideas are good and are illustrated well with photos. It is a good book to use as a guide especially for creating obstacles.

Useful for anyone who wants to improve their groundskills with their horse
A very clear and well illustrated guide on how to achieve a good responsive relationship with your horse through methods used to teach horse agility. Whilst this book is aimed at those who are interested to try horse agility and culminates in how to set up and negotiate the kinds of obstacles encountered in agility competition (and out in the opne), the skills developed to train a horse or pony to want to be with the human and work at liberty can only be helpful for any horse and also something fun to do when riding might not, for some reason, be an option.

Ideal for everyone (horsey!)
I had high expectations of this book and I have not been disappointed. It contains loads of photos to illustrate the straight-forward text so it's easy to understand and follow. It's well structured, beginning with practical points and moving through from simple to more complicated challenges. Ideal for anyone who wants to build a closer relationship with their horse or pony while having lots of fun at the same time.

practical and clear
very clear, concise, easy to understand instructions with good pictures. This was an extension on training practices I already do with my horses - although I'd never actually seen or heard of agility training before - and this gave me some fun new ideas to try. well worth a read for anyone who loves ground working their horses.

Content is good, not convinced this is original
The front page was ripped and two pages in the book were blurred. It would appear this happened during the printing process. Does not seem like this is new and could be a copy.
