Better Than Expected (Update: Display Issue)
//Update: Display Issue Issue: After 8 months of solid operation, the display began to malfunction. The screen sporadically turns black (no display for few minutes and sometime for hours), but touch sensor and audio still work. Prior to this incident, I switched the front camera to always [on] in the system setting. The screen issue appears approximately a week after this new setting. This issue occurs for several days, and the screen consistently stops displaying information for hours. I was ready to remove the unit from my truck, then it came back on for about a minute. When display comes on, it usually stays on for couple of minutes before black out again. This gave me enough time to change the setting back. You can also reset the unit using paper clip or push pin to get the screen back. The reset button is a tiny hole next to the USB port on the left side of the unit. Solution: Change the front camera from always [on] to [off]. It seems the power drawn from the head unit to run the front camera is interfering with the display interface function. After updating the setting, the display operates without issue. I'll provide update, if I encounter anything new issue. If anybody run into this issue, check your front camera setting in the system menu. /***********************************/ I was skeptic about this product being the price seems too good to be true for all the features and accessories that come with this head unit. I have only been using this head unit for only a few days, and it’s been better than expected. I will come back and update after a year. Customer service: A+. I tested the device immediately after I receive it and learn that the boot up logo and updated software have to be requested through either Facebook or email request. I contacted SJoy customer service for both items and had to provide Amazon order# and screenshot of current SW version. Both logo and updated firmware were sent to me via email the very next day. Head Unit Installation: A. The installation was easy for most DIY with couple caveats that one (1) you used aftermarket dash kit and wiring harness rather than hardwire directly to head unit. My Nissan Frontier comes with Bose amplifier, so I had to purchase PAC ROEM-NIS2 Wiring Interface ($40) instead of the cheaper standard Nissan wiring harness ($15). Another caveat is you need to be comfortable with running wire underneath the carpet and tapping into your vehicle electrical component (e.g., reverse light for backup camera). You can easily find all the procedure and steps on YouTube. Install Manual and User Manual: B. These are typical pamphlets that come with most product. It provides enough information to get you going. Head Unit Features: A-. This unit is packed with modern features. The only reason it does not get A+ is simply because it lacks option to customize in Android Auto mode. Everything else is outstanding. It’s easy to organize audio and video files into specific folders (Rock, Reggae, Pop, etc.). The touch screen responses quickly. The app in Android Auto may sometime starts a little slow, and this is mainly due to data buffering from the phone network service. Audio Quality: A. Caveat that you already have good or decent speakers in the car. Video Display Quality: A. The video resolution is 720P and will definitely keep kids from boredom on any long car trip. Front Camera Video: B. It’s a bit bulky but does exactly what it supposes to do. Backup Camera Video: A. Small enough to be hidden away and works well during both day and night. Minor concern: I notice this unit can get quite hot (102-104 deg F) after about an hour of operation. It does have a decent aluminum heat sink in the back that will be in close contact with wiring harness, after everything is mounted back in the dash. To avoid any heat issue, I kept my wiring inside ½ inch split wire loom tubing.

Perfect intersection of Price & Quality
This one is a banger for the price! Install was easy (you'll need a wiring harness & dash kit, stock antenna wire works fine). The sound is good, UI is very easy to learn, and the Android Auto/Carplay works like it should. The back-up camera works great (haven't installed the dash cam yet), but most importantly this unit has a KNOB for volume and navigating! It's a feature that's disappeared over the years, but a must have IMO. Only cons so far are that the resolution is only so-so (expected for the price) and the radio cannot play simultaneously with Android Auto/Carplay, but neither of those are a deal breaker. I emailed their support team for a software update and a Nissan boot logo, and they got it to me with 24 hrs. Overall, if your car is from before 2014 or so this unit will make you very happy for the price.

Great Deal - Cannot Use Third Party Install Kit
The system was easy to set up and works great on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Customer service is very responsive, just keep in mind they are in China so it depends on the time. Radio sound is incredible, functions are great and all works perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised. Colors you can choose are nice but there is no Orange which many of the older Toyotas have for their dash lights. Once I get into the functions more I'll update this. Issue with instructions as they direct you to get a third party install kit. I had purchased a third party install kit Metra 99-8104 and found the third party install kits do not line up with the holes on the stereo case. I ended up spending $24 on a kit that instructed me to break tabs off the kit to install and that still did not work. If you have 98-04 Tacoma/4 Runner, keep the stock brackets as those are all you need. I wish I would have known that before I was out of $24. See pics of the brackets. 86211-89111 Right Bracket, 86212-89111 Left Bracket. Use the screws shipped with the radio to install the brackets. Connecting through Android and iPhone work seamlessly. Maps, Sirius XM and phone functions work well. The MicroSD card slot I put music on there and even a movie and they worked perfectly. I used a 64GB on this but I have a feeling you might be able to go bigger but needs to be formatted in FAT32.

I got stiffed with this purchase
I was very excited to have purchased this double din car stereo with built-in rear/ backup camera and forward facing recording camera. I got to say, I love the look and play of the double din car stereo. It’s syncs up perfectly to my Apple iphone, which allows me to select all of the audio applications to play directly from the touch screen which matches my iphone. You do have to connect the iPhone via charging cable in order to work this feature. If you do not want to have your iphone connected, not to worry, you can just use the Bluetooth on the double din car stereo, which works perfectly great and plays the music from your device. So overall I was pretty satisfied with the functionality of the car stereo itself. Where my purchase went wrong was during the installation of the stereo. When it came time to install the forward facing camera it was nowhere to be found. I had completed the entire installation only to realize that the forward facing camera was gone. It was never in the box and therefore I couldn’t install it. When I tried to purchase the forward facing camera to fit this double din car stereo by inself. I was unable to find anything workable. I even tried to get a hold of the manufacture, and they did not make this forward facing camera to be sold individually for this device at all. Amazon said they would refund me the entire so I can exchange it and get another one, but I had already installed the car stereo so it would’ve been a waste of time and money to pull it out, re-box it and send it back. Instead, Amazon thought that a $20 gift card would be sufficient exchange given the circumstance. And this was only after the Amazon representative initially offered me $30 and then said “I can only give you $20”. I told the representative why offer $30 and then cheat me and give me $20 long story short the whole experience of buying this device rubbed me the wrong way and now I’m driving around without a forward facing camera, which is one of the reasons why I bought this car stereo in the first place. So buy from this company at your own risk, because more than likely it will not have all of its components inside. I buy and sell cars for a living, which is why I buy these car stereos and I cannot afford wasting any time and money, trying to clean up a manufactures mistake next time I’m just going to pick a different company stereo.

Started as value for money --> Ended with Outstanding Product!!!
What started as something that appears to be great value for the money with all the features turns out to be an outstanding product overall! I can easily recommend this product over and over. Little bit long review in hopes it will help someone decide on this great radio as well as installation for anyone that has average skills. SKIP TO CONCLUSION for short version. Main supply: -this radio kit -your car double DIN adapters for radio to sit in -your factory harness (include the SWC harness if you intend to keep steering wheel control support) -extra video cable and wires in case you may need a little more length based on how "clean" you route and car length I looked high and low trying to find the "right" stereo upgrade for our family Toyota van. I wanted basic features without breaking the bank. It has to have these basics: -Double DIN -AM/FM -Bluetooth -Aux -USB -Touchscreen -Android Auto -SWC support (steering wheel control support so I don't lose my factory buttons) Bonus: -Carplay -Mirrorlink -Backup camera -Front camera -Full equilizer -great display 1024 x 600 (doesn't seem a lot but very great for car and competitive if not, beats most) -plays movies -CUSTOM logo and wallpaper support (customizing makes this super bonus and nice) -all the settings you will ever need (includes 4 logos & 4 wallpapers customizable) -excellent customer service (Facebook chat simple but effective in real time) I didn't think I needed reverse camera or front camera, but it turns out to be simple enough install with this product that made it easy. The rear camera I just tapped into the reverse light so any time you reverse, the camera automatically comes on and mutes/stops the other source so you can concentrate - easy pleasy! The front camera I wire the yellow constant power in case you want to fire it ON without the car to record suspicious activities and to also keep the time. The red wire I connect to the pink/black trigger from the radio. This provides the front camera selection on the radio to turn it on, starts record and show on the radio - how cool! When you unselect front camera, it automatically shuts down - cool as well. Overall, The instructions had nice color, pictures and diagrams which made it clear and easier to understand. The language has been converted from overseas but really wasn't too bad at all to support with the graphics. SWC - steering wheel controls I bought extra metra and/or Crux to be ready to support steering wheel controls. But no, I was delightly surprised! No need. Just connect SWC1, SWC2, and gnd from your factory SWC control harness and feed into the Sjoybring radio and teach it and YOU ARE DONE! More money saved! What about sound!!!!??? Initially, I had plan to also upgrade the speakers too but would try just the radio upgrade 1st. Boy was I in for a surprise. The radio had enough power to "wake" my stock speakers. 60W x4 paired that with the equilizer and loudness controls, I did NOT need to upgrade the speakers at all. More headaches and money saved! I contacted support via Facebook - just type "Sjoybring" in your search and message them. They are consistently their to support your questions and install process. The best is to send them any pix and set them for logo or wallpaper with 1024 x 600 (width x height). You can find a picture converter online. <<24 hours, you have a new firmware to easily download to a USB stick and install on your radio. <2 min and press the <RESET> button with a tooth pick, wala ----> awesome customization. I only loaded the Toyota icon here for privacy purposes, but you get the idea. Conclusion: I save money with this radio in the 1st place with more features than competitors. I also save without buying extra SWC (Steering Wheel Control) modules, no speaker upgrades needed, and kit has items for both camera and radio main connections. Pretty straight forward and easy install for most DIYer's or average knowledge person. What I got in return - all the modern features PLUS more and great sounding system! I hope I can keep my eyes on the road:>)

Need an external amp to replace my OEM radio.
I bought this for my 2001 F350 because it said it was the proper fit and function for what I wanted. It's a nice radio, but it won't drive the factory speakers in my vehicle without and external amp. I returned the radio for that reason only.

Fantastic so far
I needed to modernize the stereo in my old jeep. I didn’t have a way to connect my phone to play music and was stuck listening to FM radio all the time. I didn’t really care before because I was working from home and really didn’t do much driving but now that I am back in the office and commuting 2 hours a day I couldn’t take it anymore. Installing this unit wasn’t bad at all. I had never installed a car stereo before but had no problems. My old jeep wasn’t set up for double din so there wax some creativity needed but for most this will be plug and play. Getting the update and Jeep logo start screen image from S.Joybring was simple. I messaged them on Facebook, told them I needed the latest firmware and the image and had the file the next day. Uploading to the unit via USB was also simple and fast. Car play is amazing. Once again I had no problem connecting to my phone and playing music, navigation, messaging all works flawlessly. I haven’t connected either camera yet. Retrofitting all this new technology into an old car takes time and planning, especially if you are very particular about that everything clean and factory. I looked at many name brand units before purchasing but really this was the only one I found that had everything I was looking for. For all the extra money a new kenwood or alpine costs they have completely done away with the volume knob. Old jeeps don’t have steering wheel controls and I need to be able to reach over and feel the knob to adjust the volume without taking my eyes off of the road. I hope I don’t have any issues with longevity, obviously it is too early to know. But so far I am extremely pleased with this media player.

Fit perfectly in my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GST - here are a few installation tips
I installed this unit into my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GST. It fits very well. I have not yet installed or connected the front and rear cameras - so no comment here on that. I did the installation myself. Here are a few tips: From Amazon, I bought a Wiring Harness Connector Adapter compatible with Mitsubishi Galant Outlander Montero 1992-2012 vehicles to connect to the factory wiring harness already inside the dashboard. That way, I didn't have to cut any of the existing wiring to make connections. It perfectly mapped the wiring for the 4 speakers, power antenna, constant battery, ACC battery and illumination. However, I did have to separately connect the Ground wire -- Black (-) -- on the wiring harness supplied with the JOY-W019 radio unit, as it did not have a corresponding Ground wire on the factory wiring harness connector already in the car. I simply ran a separate wire from the Black wire (called Ground (-)) on the standard ISO A-connector block wiring harness supplied with the JOY-W019 radio unit to a METAL bolt connection (that is grounded) in the car. I also purchased a 90 pc crimpable butt splice connectors kit (for sizing, use the Red ones) to join the wires from the two opposing connectors - keeping the colors matching. As for the mounting brackets, I re-used the existing brackets that I removed from my old factory-installed radio. BEFORE removing the brackets from the old radio, make sure you measure the vertical and horizontal distances from the front of each bracket (they are not the same brackets on either side) to the front and top of the old radio unit. Then simply place these same brackets onto the new JOY-W019 radio unit. The hole pairs DO NOT line up perfectly. I simply used ONLY ONE bolt on each bracket side (near the top) to secure the brackets onto the new unit, keeping the vertical and horizontal distances to the front and top of the new unit the same as with the old unit. That was secure enough to hold the unit in place and it re-installed back into the dashboard perfectly aligned. The is no need to connect the negative ILLUMINATION (-) wire (orange with Black stripe) on the Wiring Harness Connector Adapter that I purchased to plug into the factory wiring harness inside the dashboard. Disregard it. Only the positive ILLUMINATION (+) wire (orange) needs to be connected. I DID NOT NEED TO USE the detachable trim frame that is supplied with the JOY-W019 radio unit. After purchasing their product, you can contact Sjoybring support if you'd like to have a custom startup logo for your unit. They can supply many car brands. They are VERY responsive and helpful. I sent them a self-made custom Mitsubishi Eclipse image, and they returned an update file which I transferred to a blank USB thumb drive. I plugged the thumb drive into the USB port on the JOY-W019 radio unit, it self-started the update, after which I inserted a straightened paper clip into the "RESET" hole beside the USB port (as instructed). My new self-made logo now appears as the startup screen. Note that though I tried using the onscreen menu choices, to SAVE my own self-made logo, it turns out that you CANNOT simply plug in a thumb drive with your own logo and/or wallpaper for self-installation. You need to send these images to them and their technicians create an update for you and send it back.
