INFECTED: Secrets From The Medical Underground, by Ralph La Guardia, M.D., is a guid on how to outlive the virus that we are encountering right now. In this book Dr. La Guardia discusses ways to repel viruses as they enter your body. He also discusses how to prevent getting infected by current viruses and the unknown ones that are about to enterour ecosystem. He addresses alternative medicine, some over-the-counter meds and combining them with some naturalplant-based nutrients, and vitamins and minerals. The author gives us a quick look on how to boost your immune system and how to combat different types of infections in the event we encounter them.Upon reading this book, it opened my eyes to the other ways of keeping my family and myself safe and healthy. I appreciate the fact that Dr. La Guardia does not bombard readers with too many medical terms. With the pandemic still a threat, it is very important for us to keep ourselves from contracting the new Covid variants. When he mentioned how hydration is important in keeping ourselves healthy, I said to myself, “I was right!” We often have misconceptions about our fluid intake whenever we are sick. I appreciate how easy his instructions are to follow. His words are funny and amusing at times. I can feel the passion in writing and the love for the topic and his job–both build his credibility.I truly enjoyed reading this book. It felt like I was talking to our family doctor. I would definitely recommend INFECTED: Secrets From The Medical Underground,by Ralph La Guardia, M.D., to my family who are very much interested in living longer. With Covid-19 variants, it is better to be prepared than to suffer the consequences,so reading this book made me feel more equipped to take good care of myself. Overall, La Guardia’s book is easy to understand and well-written.

Interesting
INFECTED: Secrets From The Medical Underground, by Ralph La Guardia, M.D., is a surprisingly entertaining book. The author will teach you within a few pages how to prevent and cure certain diseases with an alternative method–one that is not totally controlled by the pharmaceutical industry and money. He actually offers natural home remedies and tries to explain the causes of the sicknesses. He does so in a very understandable way and as simply as possible for people that didn’t study medicine (aka me). I especially loved that he integrated so much history about previous illnesses and past pandemics. It was very enriching for my general knowledge to read La Guardia’s work.Although I’m not quite convinced by everything La Guardia states about COVID, its origins and effects, the other narrated things are quite interesting. For instance the fact that he also talks about more “normal” sicknesses like conjunctivitis or sinus infections is quite appealing. He really takes a broad approach to his educational book.Nevertheless it’s important to mention that this book contains a lot of personal opinion and research. So please don’t use it as your bible – always question the information you are given. But this is also a fact that the author clearly states at the beginning of his book, which I again deeply appreciate. It shows that the author accepts that his truth might not be everyone’s truth. He doesn’t try to sell himself as the know-it-all wise man. It’s always good to read from different sources and then create your own point of view. This book is clearly great to do just that.In this book, the sources of his narrated information are given at the book’s conclusion. Nevertheless, I would have liked it if he was more detailed on which information came from where, but I also understand that means a lot of extra work and time. I do recommendINFECTED: Secrets From The Medical Underground,by Ralph La Guardia, M.D., for people that want to understand other people's points of view, broaden their horizons, understand certain diseases, and to become more healthy overall.

Great read with inside info
INFECTED: Secrets From the Medical Underground, by Dr. Ralph La Guardia, is a tell-all expose on how to control your body’s immunity. Sadly, if a remedy is something we can do at home with odd bits and pieces, pharmaceutical companies want nothing to do with it. Also, the majority of doctors are trained to diagnose diseases and then prescribe a certain treatment—but, of course, there have to be other ways. Dr. La Guardia uses his expertise in alternative medicine and his extensive experience as a physician to provide readers with the secret to staying well.I enjoyed the conversational style of the book. I also appreciated the wealth of information inside, including the clear explanations. For example, the book starts by explaining why we get infections in the first place, which I haven’t studied since high school. This is a key component to understanding how to make ourselves better. Then Dr. La Guardia smoothly transitions into why nutrition is essential to boosting immunity. He then gives examples broken down by disease including COVID, UTIs, infections of the eye, skin, and chronic infections.I think that Dr. La Guardia makes good points, especially when calling out other “experts,” for discussing the prevention of disease in terms of attempting to prevent germs from making contact with our bodies, but ignoring the questions: “What if our bodies could just fight it off?” and “Where is the talk of immunity-boosting?”Also, I think we’ve all heard that we should stick to a fresh, raw, organic diet, but Dr. La Guardia explains thoroughly explains why that is in terms of nutrients—namely vitamin C, liposomal glutathione, CoQ10, lipoic acid—and the toll taken on your immune system by chemically-treated foods. It was nice to know that all the chicken soup I've eaten over the years wasn’t in vain. Overall,INFECTED: Secrets From the Medical Underground,by Dr. Ralph La Guardia, was a very enlightening and enjoyable read.
