Exceptional Performance โ Perfect for Detailed Sculpting
Cosclay (Medium Firm Gray) has quickly become my go-to material for serious sculpting projects. I recently sculpted Smaug and chose this clay specifically for its balance of firmness, flexibility, workability, and elasticity after bakingโand it absolutely delivered. The medium-firm consistency is ideal for detailed work. It holds crisp textures, sharp edges, and fine sculpted scales without sagging or deforming as you handle the piece. At the same time, it conditions smoothly and blends cleanly, making it easy to refine transitions and build up forms. For a complex subject like Smaugโwith layered scales, facial detail, and dynamic anatomyโthat stability matters. Out of the package, it does require a bit of conditioning. A short session of kneading helps warm it up and fully activate its workability. After that initial conditioning, it becomes supple, smooth, and cohesiveโnever dry or crumbly. Once worked, itโs very pleasant to sculpt with and maintains a consistent texture throughout the process. The gray color is also a major advantage. It provides excellent visual contrast for shadows and highlights while sculpting, allowing you to clearly see surface detail and correct imperfections before baking. It photographs well too, which is a bonus if you document your work. After curing, the flexibility of Cosclay really sets it apart from traditional polymer clays. It maintains durability without becoming brittle, which gives added peace of mind on thinner elements or protruding details. That resilience is a game changer for intricate sculpts. (I accidentally dropped this dragon sculpt and nothing broke!) I also believe this product offers excellent value for the money. Considering the performanceโboth during sculpting and after bakingโit competes strongly with other professional-grade polymer clays (better IMO). The added durability post-cure makes it feel like youโre getting more long-term reliability for your investment. Itโs also surprisingly approachable for beginners and even kids. The workable texture (once conditioned) makes it forgiving, and the post-bake flexibility adds a layer of durability thatโs especially helpful for younger creators who might be a little rough on their finished pieces. Overall, Cosclay is an outstanding choice for serious sculptors and noobs alike. It combines structure, detail retention, and post-bake flexibility in a way that elevates both the sculpting experience and the final result. It handled Smaug beautifullyโand Iโll absolutely be using it again for future projects.

Amazing clay!
I LOVE this clay. It is incredibly strong and flexible compared with other oven bake polymer clays I have used. I carved, sanded, added clay and rebaked, and finally painted it. It responded well to all. I also dropped the finished project on the ground more times than I should admit and it did not break.

Super Great!
This stuff is great. Honestly, I don't have much experience with clay, and this stuff was pretty beginner friendly. It starts out super crumbly, so it takes a while to knead out the amount you'll need, but I feel like you usually have to warm up most clay, so I don't mind. I use it to make chess sets, and I have yet to have any break so far (though we're still in beginning stages of testing). Overall, great product!

Good quality clay
Medium firm is easy enough to condition by hand without too much difficulty. Holds detail well but not as good as sculpey medium/firm. Does get slightly "sticky" and soft after some handling time but nothing unmanageable. If your looking for a clay that will be extra flexible and strong after baking, this is the one to get

Amazing stuff
This clay is flexible. I use it for small fragile pieces that would normally break with other polymer clays. Love it. Easy to work with and to blend with other clays.

Better than I expected.
This clay works really well. It's somewhere between regular Sculpey and Firm in terms of softness, but also just a tad oily. The main appeal is of course the flexibility after backing, and I was shocked at how flexible it really is. Note that you'll need to have wire in the section you want to move, or it won't hold the pose. My test sculpture did eventually break, but I had been playing with it a lot and it was a cold day, so I am not removing a star for that. I may revise if future sculptures break, but I still think the flexibility I did get is well within reason. I bought it here to support the affiliate that introduced me to it, but their website is worth checking out.
