Works great. Easily carried and lasts a long time. Great for chemotherapy patients who get cold hands due to side effects caused by treatment for cancer. I easily carry 2 pairs in my pocket or purse in case he needs them when we are away from home.This is my 2nd purchase as my husband relies on them often for his cold hands.

After activating a bag it stays warm for many hours. The heat is not high- but if you leave it in one place (e.g. your pocket or inside a glove) it gets warm and does the job.

Sport Temp 45 pair hand warmers:I opened the box upon arrival, carefully separated one pair, keeping half for future use.Shaking it for several minutes produced a slightly more than lukewarm temperature- but with consistent occasional shaking, it gradually got warmer, but I wouldn't call it "hot" by any means. After keeping a toasty warm level for 6 hours, I decided to put it in an airtight plastic bag to halt the chemical process.Several hours later, I opened the bag, repeated the shaking until it was warm again, and got an additional 5 hours of use.It went back into the plastic bag overnight. The next morning, I opened the bag, shook the package, and it again warmed up, though not quite as much as initially. More shaking produced more heat again.I expect this will continue to activate for -- who knows how long -- instructions on package DO tell you to reshake if it cools.Going into the second day of use, the warmth is still there with intermittent shaking. This has exceeded the 11 hours of "warm" use, albeit with spurts of cooling and shaking.This is my experiment. When it stops working, I'll toss it and open another.Overall, I am pleased but wish it got hotter. No matter, I count these packets as useful and you can place them in clothing next to your skin and benefit without having to spend lots of $$ on an electrical room heater, or at least spend less $$.I hope this review has helped you.

GREAT VALUE ON SO MANY! THEY WORK WELL AND WITH A LITTLE SHAKE--HEAT RIGHT BACK UP FOR A LITTLE LONGER. Purchased for outside feral cat houses in the bitter cold and they WORKED!! I did not know what to do with the extras, but found out they expire 3 years from now!! GREAT DEAL!!
