Amazing kettle. Love love love it.
Love this kettle!! Worth the price, I will always have one. My only gripe would be cleaning it, you should get a heavy duty bristle brush for the calcium buildup if the water sits in it like it does in mine. But otherwise, I couldn’t live without it!

Customer Service is awesome!
This was my second Kitchenaid electric kettle. These have 5 year warranties! I bought a 2nd one as the 1st neared the end of it's warranty, and, it was on sale on Amazon. I bought the second in case they stopped making them even though the 1st still worked just fine. The second one failed yesterday in July 2021 after heating water 3-4 times a day to make about a gallon or more of tea per day (I love tea). I checked other brands to see if I liked anything better, then I called Kitchenaid regarding warranty service , they told me they'd ship a new one to arrive in 5-7 days, to take the new one out, put the old one back in the packaging, use the shipping label and send it back to them. Pretty darned pain free!Pro:-Warranty hard to beat. Checked other choices, 1-2 year warranties, some you had to ship at your own cost.-USA company. Kitchenaid is a Whirlpool brand. I like US companies.-Slide bar to control temperature. I like to reduce caffeine consumption, so decaf black brews at near boiling, while white and green teas are lower. I don't have to reset by pushing buttons every time if I'm brewing tea at a lower temp which is nice.-Large capacity, 1.7L.-Mechanical features vs shorter lived electronics. A dial for how warm the water is vs digital read out. A slide for presetting the temperature to heat the water to.Neutral:- One loud "bing" when temperature is reached. It's loud, but if I'm busy, I can miss hearing it. My Kitchenaid hood/over range microwave "bings" for a minute or two after the timer reaches zero.- More expensive. However, if another kettle only has a 1-2 year warranty, this turns out a good deal since there is real warranty support for 5 years. This is why expense is neutral instead of a con.I like companies that support their products, especially when they are solidly made.

Kettle Art
Love my kettle -- after several months of heavy use it continues to perform perfectly. You can see the temperature rise on the old-fashioned gauge! It has a lovely ding when you press the on button and when it reaches the temperature you set (think: "fasten your seatbelts and prepare for hot water")! There's a lever to slide to your desired temperature! And a window too see how much water is in the tank! It's built like a tank and is so freaking adorable, it looks like something out of a Wes Anderson movie. Mornings start out happy for me using this kettle, and that makes it worth the price, which is high.

The kettle that is right for us.
Our kitchen upgraded from a standard old fashioned tea kettle to this electric tea kettle. It took some shopping around and even a return of an inferior kettle to get the electric tea kettle that is right for us.The Kitchen Aid is a trusted brand and the five year warranty is a big plus. Aside from those two things this tea kettle has an easy to set, easy to read heat control. The fill line is easy to see although some condensation does fog up the fill line window.A gentle chime goes off when the kettle is turned on and then it chimes again when the water comes to the right temperature. The setting is set once and doesn't need to be changed unless you want water at a different temperature than the previous kettle fill. There's a temperature window on the kettle that displays the water temperature so basically you end up with a back up system to the unit's base setting lever. Sort of gives you something to watch if you stand around waiting for the water to boil! The pour spout is short but we make coffee in a pour over filter syster and it's as easy to get a direct pour into the filter as it was with our goose neck tea kettle. The kettle is easy to lift, even when filled to the maximum water level. The handle is very easy to hold, very comfortable. The maximum water hold is about 50 ounces which translates to three large mugs of coffee/tea or four smaller mugs of coffee/tea.

Best Kettle Ever!
I have owned this kettle since June, and this is by far the best kettle I have ever owned. It was a bit pricey but worth every penny. I use this kettle 3-5 times per day so it gets a lot of use!It is extremely quiet when the water is boiling, which is the primary feature I was looking for. It looks great on the counter, and has a beautiful thermometer on the side so you know the temperature of the water. I really love that I can adjust the kettle to quit when it reaches a certain temperature, which is great when preparing most green teas. When the water is done, it has a nice chime. That was a bit confusing for a few weeks, because it sounds exactly like our door bell.On first use, there is a strange smell, but that goes away after the first few uses. I recommend boiling several pots of water and throwing it away.I will say that I have had some issues with it. The lid mechanism broke so it wouldn't open when I pushed the button, but that never bothered me, because I always fill it through the spout anyway. This morning when I went to boil my water, it chimed 5 times and would not start up. I still gave this a 5 star rating because of the amazing customer service from KitchenAid. I called the customer service line, and received very prompt and friendly service. They are sending me a new one right away, with a new 5 year warranty.I would definitely recommend this kettle!

Our second kettle has now quit working
Loved the look of this kettle. However it is a piece of junk. No more Kitchen Aid products for me. This is the second one. First was replaced under warranty. The replacement KA sent was a refurbished kettle with a poor re-paint job and the chime was nearly inaudible and finally quit altogether. Wrote to KA and told them about this and no response at all. Now the kettle is not working at all and will go directly into the trash. If I could have given no stars - that would have been more appropriate.
