Charger works great. Only problem I have had is that it doesn't like to stay plugged in. A piece of duct tape solved that problem.

This is an excellent replacement adapter for my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. I was having issues with my old adapter; after a while, it began to have a lessened output to the extent that my laptop would only run on the power cord without charging the battery. This new adapter carries the same output to the laptop as the original adapter, but does so at a lower required input amperage (a.k.a. more efficient => less energy usage => more money saved!) Plus, the device is only half the size of the adapter I used before. Great buy.

This is the 2nd of these I've purchased. They are excellent for travel as they take up far less room in by bag than the traditional "brick" style charger typically sold with Dell computers. They operate as expected, but there are times when the unit gets hot... not just warm as all chargers do. This on will get "hot". The other one I have operates this way, so I'm not concerned. They are also "warm" on the price side as well. That said, I believe the cost to be worth what I get.

This product stopped working just after 5 months. While in use it got very hot. I only used my laptop rarely so it wasn't like it was pluged in all the time. Only used it on Sunday to pay bills and surfe the net. Take away what you can from this review. I hope it helped out.

Got this replacement adapter for my Dell Inspiron 1520 after my original one from Dell suddenly stopped working after 4+ years. Decided to order this one, as the one Dell sells is several times more expensive. It's slimmer, which is quite nice when carrying it around. It does, however, tend to heat up considerably. In addition, after a few months, the rubber wire insulation around one of the plugs ripped away, exposing one of the wires, which actually severed. However the adapter (mysteriously?) still charges my laptop; a quick fix with tape did the trick. Overall I think this adapter is great; just be somewhat ginger with it.
