I just love this book! It truly covers everything I would want to know! It gives great info on the foods and drinks used for ceremony and holidays that are quite easy to make. She also has wonderful recipes for wines and meads which I didn't expect! There are herbal remedies for healing and magik as well as essential oils and recipes for different Goddesses. It is worth every penny and stuffed to the edges with information to truly make your practice your own. The only thing I wish she had done is put the amounts of ingredients in some of the remedies. For me being familiar with making salves and balms I can eyeball the amount of beeswax and have it come out perfect. Yet, I gave a copy to my friend, who is just beginning, and she couldn't get the consistency right because she had no experience. Without experience you won't know the consistency until it cools down, so I have a little trick I taught my friend, and I'll share with those of you new to salves and balms. While adding the beeswax or other emulsifier add a little at a time on low heat in a double boiler. In little intervals take a teaspoon full and cool it down quickly by sitting it in the freezer. If it's thick and you like the consistency stop there. If you want it thicker add some more and check again. If you added too much add a little liquid to thin it out a bit. Remember adding too much will make it too waxy and it will just sit on top of the skin and nothing will absorb. Hope this helps those that are just beginning. This book is so very worth getting even with some recipes not having quite enough info. In fact I am giving one to a friend practicing for many years and another to a friend just entering the craft. Let me tell you something. I've been interested in homesteading my entire life and have never found a good single resource for it. Anything that I've looked at related to zero waste or homesteading just didn't cut it for me as being "the one". I stumbled across this in my research on Hearth Witches and this book is FABULOUS. It teaches you EVERYTHING - from how to make jam and chutney, pickles, wine, beauty products, laundry soap (have you ever heard about soap nuts? I didn't until this book!), cleaners, medical applications for herbs, magical recipes for the pagan holidays, even ink for writing! And that barely scratches the surface. I'm so happy to have found this book, and I've already pre-ordered her next book. Can't wait to see what it contains!

This book is full of recipes and information! It’s so worth the money! It’s a pretty big book, loaded with good stuff! It’s one of those “grab a cup of hot tea and sit by the fireplace” kind of books lol. I loved it! It’s one you’ll be digging thru for years to come!

I just got mine a few minutes ago and I’m already in love with this beautiful book! This should be in every new witches collection.

If you’re looking for a book that has every possible recipe, you could think of, this seems to be it. From homemade liquors to incense to lotions, to household cleaners. You name it. The one thing I found a little frustrating about this is that it switches back from metric to imperial measurements over and over again, between the recipes. There are, however, a handy dandy conversion chart in the back. I was just thrown off a bit by it switching back-and-forth between these measurements throughout.

I cannot recommend this enough. Even if you're not a witch and you just want to start homesteading or be more sustainable, this is the book for you. It's an encyclopedia of home remedies, instructions for preserving home grown food or herbs, recipes for homemade cleaning and beauty products, etc. Totally totally worth it. Worth than they charged, even. Please get this book.

This is a thorough tome on magical uses for plants and oils, including love-infused recipes for foods enjoyed as the Wheel of the Year turns. The index is extraordinarily helpful. Franklin is experienced in the Craft and also did her research for this book. Highly recommended. (Note: I am not a Wiccan, and this book is written from that perspective but does not feel exclusionary.)

Man kann hier nicht genug Beispiele auflisten, was das Buch hier anbietet. Da ist für jedem etwas dabei. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

I’ve read a good handful of Anna Franklin’s books and this one like all the others are the sort of book you can actually use and gain from in your daily living as a pagan as a magical person who understands or hopes to understand the underlying energies and beauty of the old ways. To me even though extremely practical this book is also an extremely spiritual book when approached with this intention The fact that we are utilising as much of the Earths resources as possible in lieu of checmicals and synthetics being as self reliant as possible by the fact we can actually grow or forage the items we use or if not at least mindfully source is just lovely. It covers many topics from food, drinks,home,beauty,essential oils and much more

i found this book amazing, it has everything a hearth witch needs, it is a great reference book
