The delivery was fast and handled with care. The product itself, as you can see, is quite well made. When you first open the box and take out everything, it is in a plastic wrapping and the contents smells strongly of disinfectant/cleaning alcohol. It is made in China and I am quite impressed with everything up to this point. The stitching is tight, the paper is thick enough to use watercolor or won’t bleed through with ink. The journal cover and the string that wraps around it is thing, but strong. The journal is made to hold everything in place, the bindings that hold the journal together can be taken apart and new pagers placed, the paper used has a porous feel. 41 pieces of paper is used and folded in half to make the pages of said journal. Because the paper is thick, it is tricky to get the journal to stay straight when you take it out and try to write in it. Take a different angle when writing or bend it the opposite direction to help straighten it out. So far nothing has been a negative on this product. It will be tested and tried in the elements and a subsequent review will be made. For those looking for a gift for the explorer in their life, this is it. Happy hunting.

This is a very well made, cute journal. I loved it so much I bought a second one. First one was perfect. Unfortunately the second one smelled. Months later with it out in my garage and it STILL smells. I'm going to try a last ditch attempt to fix it by leaving it out in the sun. That works with a lot of things. If I can fix the smell this would easily be five stars like the first one.

Great quality. Love the case. It had smell but that is expected from the material. Odor was gone after a couple of days. No biggie.

I knew I probably wasn't getting much with this journal, but I had hopes that it would be better than what I ended up with. The faux leather is poor quality and unlined. The pages aren't even creased or divided into sections. The journal was clearly left rolled up in the tube for too long; the pages are currently flattening in a press but they would have been completely unusable as I received them.In general, you'd be better off starting from bare supplies.

The media could not be loaded.  Really nice little book.Looks built well.The smell of chemicals or some sort of enamel stuck my entire house up.Its been in the garge for a week now and still smells.
