I love this birdhouse but have not hung it yet. I am going to paint it in summer colors. Looking forward to hanging it this spring. Very nice looking as is and seems very sturdy. Will try to remember to post pictures after I finish it.

You need to paint it so the wood won't rot in the weather.

Not as big as thought it would be in picture. Not the greatest paint job. It is cedar so should hold up in weather. Mostly for looks instead of functional. No clean out if birds use.

Cute and very well made for the price - I painted it because the paint that was on it was very thin and I wanted to brighten up the color. Overall really nice for the price

Lies! This birdhouse claimed to be waterproof but it came and smelled so strong of paint fumes that I didn’t feel safe putting bird seed in it without letting it off gas and rinsing first. Well, the paint came off and got soooo gooey when I tried rising it off. It’s not sealed and I’m not sure what kind of paint is used but it is not made to last. The inside is not sealed either so it’s definitely not going to withstand the elements. I’m guessing why other reviewers noted that no birds used it is because of the chemical smell. They probably know it’s not safe. I’m going to copy the design and build my own using animal safe materials. Can’t believe they can get away with such blatantly false advertising. I had read the bad reviews and was optimistic anyway. Shame on me!
