Purchased as part of a yeast-balancing protocol. This is a fairly small-looking bag that is tightly packed with quite an abundance of shaved bark. In my previous experience using pau d'arco for balancing yeast, it works best when the bark is used in relatively high quantity, simmered for a while, and then allowed to sit in the hot water for several hours to allow the compounds to extract into the water. Previously I've gotten product that was more finely cut and therefore easier to extract, so I make sure to really give this plenty of time. It combines well with other antimicrobial and antifungals, including cinnamon and clove, as well as with nutritive herbs like nettle.
