My husband had a hip replacement in May, and found that our 'comfort height' toilet needed no modifications other than the assist bars that are shown in the last photo. However, this week he had the first of his knee replacement surgeries, and his first try at sitting on the toilet was impossible. The seat was just too low. Local shops only stocked the blow-molded plastic toilet toppers that clamp onto the existing toilet base, requiring the existing seat to either remain up all the time (nope, close seat before flushing!!), or to be removed and attached to the seat riser. Aesthetically, they look less than attractive, reminding one of a hospital or nursing home. Not only thst, but reviews are mixed, with many users reporting that they shift and slide under the body's weight and movement, and can even come unlatched completely. This any acceptable for anyone, but especially for someone with new joint replacements for whom safety and proper joint alignment while moving is essential. It was by reading one of these products' reviews where I came across a written account of another person's experience with one of those cheap plastic risers, and he mentioned going with the Kohler Hyten seat. I found the product, and was immediately impressed. Ordered it for one-day delivery. When it came today, I grabbed my phillips screwdriver and got to work. Our existing toilet seat was a Kohler, and so was delighted to find that the silicone/stainless top-mount anchors are the same for both seats! All I had to do was remove the screws and old seat, and install the new seat's mounting plates snugly in place. Snap on the covers, and the seat was installed! Took me no more than ten minutes. It installs completely from the top. Fits our elongated toilet perfectly, and looks clean and very modern. The seat is smooth and comfortable, and even though I don't need the extra height myself at 5'4", it's not too high for me to use easily. The material is the same as our regular Kohler toilet seat - smooth, hygienic, and comfortably contoured. It even has a soft-close hinge, which I consider essential. Kohler thought of everything with this one. Hubby has been napping, and I'm sure he will be surprised - and happy - too see this seat in place for his added comfort while recovering from his knee replacement. I do not anticipate needing to remove this seat after he's completely mobile again (the second knee will be replaced in about 6 weeks) because it looks so nice, but if I would decide to do so, I know that it will be extremely easy. I highly recommend this product as a much better option for anyone needing a taller toilet seat, whether you're just very tall or you need it for home convalescence.

This gave me the extra height needed for my lower back pain. It was easy to install and I really like the product. It does seem to get some "splash" under it and it takes a bit more cleaning than a standard toilet seat, but that is nothing a pair of rubber gloves and sanitizer wipes does not take care of. For me, it is totally worth the extra bit of cleaning. Saved me having to buy a comfort height toilet and have it installed. It also does not make my bathroom look like a convolesent home! So worth it.

I balked at the price, as some extra-height toilet seats are significantly less cost. BUT I am glad we chose HYTEN by Kohler, for several reasons: 1. Everything Kohler makes is beautifully designed and does what you believe it should, in the way that it is promised (this based on 60+ years of remodeling experience). 2. Soft close lid is excellent, says "quality" and works perfectly. 3. Material is far superior to lesser-priced competitors. 4. Installation took, literally, just a couple of minutes. And there are instructions here, right on Amazon, to help you realize how incredibly easy it is. In fact, it took longer to remove the OLD toilet seat than it did to accomplish a flawless installation of this Kohler brand seat. 5. Color options are very helpful if you want a professional looking bathroom. White, biscuit, almond, a couple of different grey ones (prices usually vary by color and seller). 6. And TOTO too. I believe this ROUND one I purchased will also fit TOTO round toilet. Bolt span is five and a half inches (5.5 inches), which is pretty standard in the world of good, professional toilets. INSTALLATION TIP: watch the installation video FIRST to avoid gnashing your teeth and cursing loudly in a bathroom, which tends to echo. It really IS easy.

I have had a few raised toilet seats and this one is by far the best. Just the right height for after knee and hip replacements. Looks just like a regular toilet seat and more comfortable. Easy to install too. You barely have to touch the lid for it to close which is a nice feature.

My bathroom was just renovated; a new American Standard, elongated, flush toilet was installed. Believe it or not, this toilet seat looks as if it is part of the toilet. It could not be easier to clean. The two top parts of the seat ease down by themselves after being lifted. Just tip them down, and presto chango-- a gradual, noiseless decent. The price is reasonable for what you are getting. Ten stars for this product!

This Kohler 3" rise seat does the job of giving a little 'boost' in the home bathroom for a variety of reasons such as knee or back pain being less aggravated by sitting too low. Several plusses are; the soft close of the eat AND lid, the sleek modern look that fits in with a modern bathroom AND the fantastic silicone bumpers on the seatto keep it firmly in place! All toilet seats should have silicone bumpers as they really hold the seat in place. This is designed to *easily remove the seat, if need be, for cleaning. Otherwise, clean as you would any othr seat. I will be buying a second one due to its clean, sleek look for a modern update to another 'company' used bathroom.

Most people have white toilets so the white seed is the best one to purchase for most people. It's also the least expensive and the price varies a lot. The high price over the last year was around $68 and the low price was like 40 or so. We bought it a few days ago in August and it was like with tax and everything about $44.00. Some of the reviews and distinctions indicate that for someone over 6 ft it is ideal. Well at 6'7 I'm not going to agree with that because I put it on a short toilet, I reckon our original toilet in our New York City Queens Kew Gardens co-op is kind of the toilet size that a kindergartner might have. So great for bending my knees to the limit, but not much else. So the toilet is super easy to install. Just go on to YouTube and search for videos that praise the toilet show the insulation. They're usually very short and it takes about 5 minutes to do the install. Maybe a little longer if you. You are not used to working with tools. You do need a Phillips head. Screwdriver and typically one of those that has a removable blade or blades that has Phillips and straight and then different size Phillips on. It is absolutely perfect for this. That should be in your handyman's toolbox anyway. And then the steps are very simple and much easier to watch a video. Trying to describe it accurately so everybody understands is almost impossible. For us this is a temporary stop Gap still measure because we'll be installing an extra toilet in the near future. But of course we're going to install this seat on that toilet. Highly recommended! Particularly if you're 6'7", and my wife who is 5'7" also loves it.

Love love it. When I first put the toilet seat on and sized it up for measurement I said to myself oh my God I have to send it back. Do not pack it up and send it back before you read the instructions fully and you look at which way the hinges go and you press the button on the seat like it says. At first it looks like when it was locked into place that it was stuck 3 in up in the air and that the seat would not come down and level and sit on the seat that the hinges were keeping it stuck up of the air 3 in. and then once I read the instructions and tried it again there was some give to it and everything started working properly and it fit. they are little stiff to work with until you realize how it's supposed to assemble. You've already measured and no it's supposed to fit so it will. Be patient don't pack it up yet try try again. My toilet measures from the middle of the holes to the front 18 and a half inches. The width from edge to edge is 14 in. The screw head sits in on the bottom of the slot towards closest to you as far as it would go so it just made for fitting into the bracket. The French is almost perfectly to the edge of the bowl just barely. It could have used a couple fractions more to the edge but it's still excellent. It's not perfectly flush to the edge but it looks good, and sits very well. I'm 5'3 but I always wear slippers which brings me to the height of 5'4 and my feet still don't touch the floor just half of the front of my foot but nowhere near flat to the floor. I wasn't taken into consideration of sitting up back on the seat I should have realized my computer chair being at the highest setting of 21 in and being perfect for me that 3 in would be little too tall 2 in maximum is what I should have bought but this does not come in 2 in that I know of. the comfort and the soft clothes lid and the looks of it make it worthwhile my company will enjoy the comfort because they're all at least a few inches taller than me. if this had sold in a 2 inch I would buy another and give this one away but it still far superior more comfortable than the regular toilet seat which my knee was clicking three times every time I sat down on my toilet never on my computer chair being the proper height but always on my toilet now I have no clicking at all. I have shot cartridges. I knew I better get on this again and buy a toilet riser like I had before. though it was one of those cheap cramp on ones. when I moved I got rid of it and said next time I will get one that is permanent. so just when you think you need more than 2 in if you're 5'3 or 5'4 do not go more than 2 in toilet riser, if you want your feet to touch the floor fully and not just your toes. if you're one that likes to sit on the toilet and read or be on your cell phone your feet might start to go numb. I should have only got a 2 inch one. but that's okay this seems to be the only one that is quality for my money and it is soft close and that works perfectly on its own just as it should and it looks exactly like the pictures. It is not like a cheap toilet seat at all, but it is not expensive quality. I think a fair price for it would be $89.99 even though it does have the awesome soft clothes that works so well. I would have said the values 79.99 but comparing it to the other ones of lesser quality with no soft clothes lid I had to say a fair price would be $89.99 in today's world. but if you must and you're tired of shopping and you don't want to wait for prices to come down this is the toilet seat pretty good comfort took me 5 minutes to install after I realized what I was doing wrong that made it look like the seat wouldn't come down and was stuck up in the air 3 in. I was so happy that I did not have to send it back. the problem was me not that it was going to be a few inches too short. it is so nice to slide on and slide off my toilet and not have my knee click three times upon bending down. I need it to get on top of this pronto to save the life of my knee longer and not cripple me in the future. I don't know if I mentioned this in my book here or not I do have shot cartilages and I've had shot cartridges for 30 years from doing a repetitious job my knees bending too much. I'm 70 now. it is important to take the pressure off your knees the toilet is just as important as a mattress or shoes comfort.

The item arrived relatively quickly considering international carriers. The seat is useful and looks good but the hinge fitting are not that good and the rubberised fixing retainer allow movement compared to standard anchorage. This lets the unit down considering the purchase and fitting costs are well over the ton! This leads to another fault on the item sent in that the hinge anchor pin covers are over size and this causes them to lift off with the seat when removing. The principal of this release mechanism seen on seats a quarter of the price are far better and at least they remain in place. The quality assurance dept at the manufacturer need to be more vigilant when you are asking such high prices. The installation was straight forward and instructions satisfactory. However, the rubberised anchors are not great compared with standard ones and do not provide positive locks for the hinges. The removal for cleaning is irritating with the covers of the hinge coming off every time you lift it off. The fitter said it was a quality issue as these normally remain in situ. Overall the product looks good but grossly overpriced compared with similar items and quality issues of the hinge and anchorage needs to be addressed before any further consideration of purchase. This item is being returned as unacceptable
