Great for self defense
I can carry this in my semi truck. I had a hard time finding the 8 g CO2 cartridges but you can find them on Amazon.

A bit cheap-looking.
I have been looking at less lethal methods to protect myself and my dog on our walks. We are on the edge of town, and there are a lot of coyotes and a few stray dogs in the area. I have been carrying a 9mm pistol on our walks for 6 years. I also have pepper spray, but I'm just not sure how well that would stop a large dog. I picked up this less lethal alternative for that reason. I haven't used it yet, but I have familiarized myself enough to know how it works. It's not as intuitive as you might think, and it loads much different than a real firearm. I'll take it to the range with me next time I go to check the accuracy.

Decent defensive option
This is CO2 powered and is designed as an alternate home defense option. The range using the included rubber balls is about 20 feet. It is well built and not too heavy. There are two included ball holders for loading and storage. I also have not noticed any air leaks during storage. Overall a good choice.

Another customer saying DO NOT BUY!
A four pepper ball or rubber pellet magazine is too small if this is to be used as a deterrent. One will need more than four to distract an attacker for an escape. What really irks me is the lack of a return policy. I tried to cancel the order but the Amazon system rushed the order through. I wrote to Lancer and they said to follow the return policy for Amazon. But the Amazon system denies any returns.I would say you will NOT want to buy this product. Do NOT waste your money.

very tempermental
I have noticed that sometimes it will fire 2 balls at once. it still has the power there but uses one of your shots which can be concerning if you needed it. other than that works very well with really good accurancy

Do not buy this
I have tried many of the other air guns like this one. This one is the worst of all. I bought 2 of the Scorpions. The first never reached +200 fps and the hammer kept getting jammed. The other fell apart while I was loading it for the first time (the magazine drop button literally just fell out of the gun). I never even was able to try that one. I also bought the Hornet. The gun worked fine until it started shooting 2 rounds at once and then the magazine jammed making the gun un-shootable. I tried their customer service and received no help. In that their are no returns with Amazon, I ended up just throwing it all in the trash as these products are total garbage.

Great for self defense
We have been looking at least lethal method to protect us and this works fine. I think it would have been better if there's a CO2 included on it.

Poor engineering
This product is a disgrace. Do not buy this item. I have no experience with Lancer Tactical other than this item; however, I assure you this is the first and final product from them, for me. Read on if you would like...The detent on the clip, where the spring is designed to sit is the wrong size. In practice, because the hole is considerably larger than the gauge of the spring; it does not reliably seat behind the clip - and therefore, does not actually eject the clip.I have not yet fired this. I had loaded it with 4 riot balls and a CO2 (un-punctured). The proverbial "locked and loaded", as it were - Ya know, as one would.Prior to getting ready to test, I was just looking the unit over again - and pressed the clip eject more out of habit than anything else... It made a 'click' and then protruded from the end of the barrel roughly 1/4". I could not; after pulling, prying - and ultimately breaking the clip - get it out. I, of course knew there were better steps to take; however, I was curious to see how complete and total the failure was. I literally walked away with shredded hands trying to get the clip out - even using pry bars/knives/tools (and I don't have soft hands). After full disassembly, the aforementioned mis-match between the spring gauge and detent size were immediately apparent. Further to that point; the spring wouldn't do well even if it did fit property - there is not enough well supported torsion. Said differently; it's a floppy, crap spring - and if they couldn't get that right...Look - let's call out the score here. People who intend to purchase this product are taking at LEAST *some additional risk, by wanting to utilize less-than-lethal products such as this. Manufacturers MUST not make people regret it. Personally, my morals dictate that I will protect myself and my own if a situation calls for it - but I would prefer to not hurt anyone more than I have to. To that end; a product like this is horrifically damaging to the whole tenet of less-than-lethal. Being put at unnecessary risk due to poor engineering (and so, so, stupidly - a cheap spring) in my opinion - is tantamount to criminal neglect. How dare you Lancer Tactical. Seriously, how dare you. There are people out there - their eyes light up at the prospect of someone entering their castle (home) so they may shoot them dead. Many, many, many more of us do not share that fantasy - really, almost all people do not want anything to do with seriously injuring or killing someone - so for this, we pay with our security? My 12ga pump WILL drop a threat - I made a conscious decision to purchase this instead, as an option. With junk like this; there is no option.Had I had cause to use it - I would have deployed; fired 4 rounds and been unable to reload. I would be at a tactical disadvantage - if for no other reason, than I thought I had a working deterrent. If you're going to build me a fancy stapler - I'll just use a stapler to defend my house.Apologies to all for my rant. This just makes me very upset. Not just for me, but for all of us.I do have high standards, but I like to think i am reasonable. Generally speaking, I leave things alone unless I really have cause to say something/do something about it. This is just bad - my hope is that this review stops someone, anyone from buying this.I read questionable reviews (like you are right now) and still proceeded anyways, because I didn't actually believe a company could make something this bad.I am here to say - believe me, they did.
