very nice unit for the money
I received this unit about a week ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I wanted a stereo for my office that worked with my ipod and my xm radio that would also play cds and a decent radio. This unit does it all. I looked at units that were twice as much that didn't have the features of this one. The sound quality is perfect for my office. It looks nice: it works perfectly: I can't think of a single complaint. I bought mine as a reconditioned unit from an Amazon Marketplace seller so it was a fantastic value. If I had to pay full price, I would (Costco has it for $149).

TEAC Sound System
Very disappointed! Shipment contained only one speaker (not two), no remote, and worst of all, no connecting cable. Totally useless and returned the next day.

Great system, but....
This the second micro system I purchased fromTeac. The first I returned because the unit didn't have a headphone jack, which I needed desperately since I used it in an work environment. I purchased the MC-DX32I because it had the same features as the one I returned plus the headphone jack. I do have a couple of minor issues with this model, such as the headphone jack is in the back of the unit instead of in front or on the side. This means every time I want to use my headphone I have to move the unit and since the power jack and antenna jack is on the side, they sometimes dislodge which leads to my other caveat. When the power is either unplugged or dislodged, the unit doesn't save the time or the memory settings which means I have reset everything ALL over again. It also doesnt charge my IPhone, but I resolved that issue. I bought a dockStubz from Cablejive. Other than those issues I would have given this unit 4-5 stars. Especially for the money

Teac system
We were looking for a compact sound system for the kitchen and eating area, and this one certainly fits the bill. Having most of our music on the iPod meand all the mucic is with us in a compact format. But we also wanted to be able to play new CD's as we got them. This system fits the bill. The sound is excellent, and you have the option of mounting the speakers on the wall - they are quite flat, but sound great. The is a separate subwoofer, which does take up space, but adds to the sound quality.Issues I have is that the controls are not as intuitive as they could be (the system has to be off to set the time); you do have to point the remote directly at the system for it to respond; and the wires supplied could be longer to allow for more flexabilty in speaker placement. And finally, getting CD's in and out of the vertical player can be awarkward at times. All in all, I'm happy with it. Great sound at a good price.

TEAC CD-X10i - Great bookshelf system
This little system sounds much better than I thought it would. It has a big presence, thanks to the subwoofer (not always shown). It is easy to set up and the iPod dock is very handy. I bouhgt a new system, but beware - my old one just died after about 3 years. Still, I liked it and it isn't too expensive, so I bought another.

Not all that...
I've had this system for about a year now, and while it's still holding up well, I've found it to be consistently mediocre. The sound isn't great--to me, it sounds somewhat muffled, and there's no way to equalize the sound. There are no sound controls besides on, off, and volume up or down. The CD player often has trouble recognizing discs, especially CD-Rs, and often won't play them. Even with "store-bought" normal CDs, the CD often turns and turns and turns before the player will finally read it. I've never had a CD player that had so much trouble reading discs.I'm already shopping around for a new stereo, which I think is a shame. I was seduced in by the esthetic of the thin speakers, but they're contrasted by the bulky subwoofer that isn't shown in all of the pictures, and which ruins the look. And as other reviewers have noted, you lose all presets and even the time when you turn off the subwoofer, so I wonder how much I could save on my electricity bill if I could turn it off?It was a purchase made in haste that I regret. One star is for the flat speakers, which still are kind of cool, and the fact that it charges my iPod while it's docked. The other star, I suppose, is for simple durability--after a year, it's still functioning, but at that price shouldn't it be?
