SecureLock Gun Vise

Finally broke down and bought the Birchwood Casey adjustable gun vice. I looked at so many others and decided that this was the better value. Gunsmiths may want to get something more substansive, but for those of us who need a third hand for cleaning or minor maintenance, this will do the job. Easy to set up and adjust. I should note, this does NOT have height adjustable legs as the product description mentions. There are ways around that if it is an issue. It is sturdy and solid. Can be bolted to a work bench if desired. Folds down for easy storage.

I had read a bunch of reviews with complaints about the description being erroneous. Well, that is true there is no base or height adjustment. The vise sits nice and flat, feels sturdy and completely suits my needs. I used it yesterday to do some modifications on an air rifle and it worked perfectly fine. I really like it and consider it very good value for money.

As everyone else has said, the description is not accurate. It does not have leveling feet. Good vice for the price though.

God bless. The rack itself is sturdy and great for working on systems however depending on the hand guard or rail system the forward clamp may not house it 100%.

The seller did fast shipping, thanks. I like the fact that it folds for storage and a much better price than the $169 one I was looking at which had mixed reviews. I read reviews about it kind of wobbles with the rifle clamped. To resolve this, clamp the butt stock first, then when clamping the forehand, apply SLIGHT rearward pressure on the stock while applying SLIGHT pressure on the forehand clamp in the opposite direction (I can do this with one hand). This puts a slight, and I mean slight, bind on the two clamps preventing them from wobbling. Works great. For the minimal amount of rifle work I do, this is good. It evens works on my crossbow.

The vise I received wasn't the same one as pictured. Same thing as all the other 1-star reviews. When I contacted Birchwood customer service, I got this comical reply: "Thank you for getting back to us.
