Excellent EDC for the money
Great value for what you get. The blade holds a very nice edge. It's not extremely tough under abuse, but great for boxes, cutting cord, zip ties, everyday stuff. The spring assist is excellent. Smooth, quick deployment and snaps tight into the locked position. Seriously an excellent EDC. I have two. They're so inexpensive, why not.

Seems like a really solid choice in this price range!(?)
I'm certainly no knife expert, but I've owned quite a few small knives. So far, for the price, this seems like a very solid choice!First, let me say that this is a large, fairly heavy knife. If you're looking for something small to throw in your bag, this is probably overkill. But, that size means there is plenty of room on the grip for large hands. (I have medium hands and there's room for an entire other finger). Nice big spot for your thumb to press on, too. The grip has a nice feel; it's a hard plastic with little bumps/nibs that give it some grip.Functionally, it seems very sharp, and the blade opens up with ease. The blade assist flips it open QUICK with a nudge on the thumb knob. (See note below...) Closes up nicely, too. The lock button is great for a little peace of mind, knowing the blade won't open or close unexpectedly. Nice that there are THREE different belt-clip positions to choose from. The clip itself is long and stout.Looks wise (if that's important) it has a kind of rugged, functional, technical look to it. Not a beauty but looks like a serious tool for getting things done. I like the natural, potato-ish color. I'll also mention that the packaging is VERY simple, but classy and appropriate for the price point - and certainly giftable. My only, very small concerns:1. There's a little wiggle side-to-side when the blade is extended. It's not really concerning, and I don't know enough about knives to know if this is commonplace/unavoidable or not, just thought I'd mention it.2. Is it possible for a blade assist to be TOO powerful? This thing WHIPS the blade open with speed and force... seems like it could chill out a bit.3. Just from transit, the blade lock button looked a little worn right out of the box. Not a big deal - it should look used soon enough! But just keep in mind.Overall, this seems like a really solid choice in this price range, from what I can tell. Check it out!

An Impressively Well-Made, High-Quality Knife, Though a Tad Larger than I Expected
This folding knife from Coast is an impressively well-made product. The blackened stainless-steel blade is very hard and super sharp, and its interesting shape with the angular tip will undoubtedly make it useful for many cutting, slicing, and piercing tasks. (I'd like the blade a little better if it didn't have the serrations near the handle, but that's just my personal preference and in no way detracts from the overall quality and craftsmanship of the knife itself.) I really like the handle, too, which has a reptilian texture that provides a solid and secure grip, though I'd like the handle even more if were black or dark green instead of tan, as the darker color would give the knife an even more saurian or ophidian aesthetic (again, this is just me interjecting my own tastes). The only real issue I have with the knife is that, based on the dimensions given here on Amazon's product page, I expected it to be just a little bit shorter when folded shut. Sadly, it's just about a half an inch too long to fit comfortably in my pocket, so I won't be able to use it, as I'd hoped, to replace my aging pocketknife. (To be fair, I must note that this knife does have a built-in belt clip, but since I already carry my cell phone and one other item clipped to my belt, I don't really want yet another item hanging from my waist.) Still, this Coast knife is a high-quality piece of hardware that is built to last, and I have no doubt that I will find many uses for it in the years to come.

Heavy duty
Sharp, positive lock up. Little heavy, clip seems strong, time will tell.

My husband was happy, so I’m happy.
Got this for my husband. I’m by no means a knife expert nor do I personally collect knives. If you’re looking for an in-depth review of how this knife compares to other brands, read a different review. Personally I like this knife because it has a lock on it. I love my husband, but he grew up in the country, and he travels constantly for work. So when he’s home he doesn’t always think about the fact that we have little kids that take every opportunity to try and play with dangerous things. Now my husband always carriers a knife in his person, unfortunately when he’s done using it he often puts it down, and forgets about it until he needs it again. With this knife at least when he sets it down if/when my kids find it, it will still be safely closed. Now you do have to activate the lock, it doesn’t automatically lock when closed. This isn’t an issue has my husband always closes and locks the knife when he’s done using it. My husband was happy with the he knife when he got it. Liked the weight, the look, the safety lock for when you’re using it works well, doesn’t snap shut. Very sharp, easy to cute with, comfortable in grip, clip was securely attached, overall a great knife for the piece range. Made in China.

Not well made
Not very well made. It's ok but not worth what I paid for it.

Nice knife. Doesn’t take an edge well.
Mechanically sound. Blade is questionable. Honorable company though. They will replace free of charge if found to be defective.
