My New Favorite Pomade
This is my new go-to pomade. After trying many other pomades, this is my favorite (although Suavecito Firme Hold is very close). I like the American Crew Heavy Hold pomade because it maintains a good hold while not being too stiff when trying to comb my hair to get my desired style. The shine lasts all day while not being too greasy looking. I like the smell. It has the same scent as the other American Crew pomades, which is hard to describe, but it is not offensive in any way, and goes away after a couple of hours. The only bad thing about the pomade is that I have to use quite a bit for my thick hair. Granted, I have to use about the same amount as similar pomades, but the 3 oz can doesn't last that long. All in all, I would recommend this pomade for anyone who likes a little bit of shine and needs a heavier hold product. It is reasonably priced on Amazon, and is a quality product.

Great hold with a little shine and a very pleasing scent
American Crew Heavy Hold is the best pomade that I have found for my somewhat wavy hair. I dry my hair and work a dime size amount of this pomade through my hair with my fingers. It has great hold throughout the day. The hold will weaken with heavy moisture in the air, but a slight moistening of the hair with a small reapplication does the trick. I love the scent of this pomade very much. It is pleasing and masculine, but not overbearing. The Heavy Hold pomade is not greasy or waxy like some of the other American Crew pomades.

Good consistent quality
It’s hard to find a good pomade. Once you find a good one, they’ll often change the formula to make it cheaper.American Crew is expensive, but consistent. It smells good, but not overpowering. The heavy hold works well. It leaves residue behind even after washing your hair, but that’s kind of expected for heavy hold. And it doesn’t dry out my hair.

SOLD. JUST ORDERED MORE. FINALLY!
I just received this yesterday last minute before I was going to work and my hair was tow-up. This stuff fixed that super quick! It's not a cream or a gel, but rather a waxy feeling to it. It's solid clear as seen in the photos and you get what you pay for. I got sick of using those ICE spiker products for turning into hard glue afterwards, then found this. At least with this you can still run your fingers through your hair!.. And yes, you can STILL style it to your liking. (Even when dry!) Some people say it's got a musky smell to it... DUDE, YOU'RE A MAN! MEN ARE MUSKY! This smells like a total man's product! To me it just smells really clean and really manly. It's pretty stiff for a pomade, just don't overdo it on dry hair. If you want that wavy, messed or styled up kind of hairdo..Then this is for you. I used a little extra for that maximum hold and my hair STILL hasn't budged even a 10 hour shift. I can still run my hands through my hair too! It's not hard at all. I'm ordering a lot more when I get my second delivery. I need to make sure it's the same product. Careful of fakes. I'll call and raise HELL on Amazon if it's a fake. This one's authentic though so you should be cool. And one more thing... DAMN IT AMAZON!!! IT TAKES FOREVER FOR YOU PEOPLE TO DELIVER A HAIR PRODUCT?! SERIOUSLY. Expect to WAIT a week for this product. IT SAYS TWO DAY SHIPPING WITH PRIME, BUT IT'S DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING. IT DOES NOT TAKE TWO DAYS, IT TAKES 7 DAYS. PLEASE CALL AMAZON TO LET THEM KNOW IT'S DECEPTIVE MARKETING. I'm giving Amazon 1 Star for delivery & 5 for the product.

Best pomade for solid hold
This is my favorite hard hold pomade. I’ve tried Old Spice, the Equate version, and others- but this is the best. Good hold, lasts all day, can handle a good amount of sweat, and has a pleasing scent. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth the extra couple of dollars over it’s competitors imo

Works, but not "high hold"
I've been experimenting with the various American Crew products, trying to find something that works best for my hair, and became interested in this after seeing it labeled as having the highest hold and shine ratings of the entire line. While the product itself works alright, for my hair type at least (thick, fine, and straight) it was definitely not "high hold". I'd describe it more as a medium to medium-light hold with medium shine. I think it's similar to the regular American Crew Pomade, although possibly with slightly less hold overall. On the plus side, it's definitely easy to work with and the water-based formula doesn't leave a sticky or waxy residue that's hard to wash out.For anyone looking for products with a higher degree of hold, I'd recommend trying the Forming Cream (medium shine) or Grooming Cream (high shine), which have both worked well for me in the past.

For Thick Unruly Hair
I don’t know about you, but I have thick coarse hair that loves to get all wavy and curly if I use anything other than a High Hold High Shine pomade. I’ve tried every combination and HH-HS is the only things that keeps my hair straight and in place the course of the day. And even gives it stylistic volume a day or two after.American Crew loves to overprice their products. Why? I don’t know. I’m not a fan of the soft scent they use for their hair products, particularly the pomades, but I guess they think images of 1950s icons equates to a higher price. The one thing I will say about their take on the High Hold High Shine is that it feels very good. I tried Barlow’s version of the HH-HS and it was very gluey and gooey. I’m a particular fan of Cremo’s HH-HS Hair Polish but the smell is just wayyyyy too much of a synthetic citrus bomb. American Crew mellows it out with a more “polish” vibe.I would never buy just one of these because it’s way too much money but in a 3-pack or multipack, it’s definitely worth it for those of you with thick unruly hair looking to slick it back and to do what you want it to it.
