Great way to practice!
This putting aid helps you zero in on the target. Once you get used to using this, the hole looks bigger when on the course. I suggest using the smallest setting and just work with it until you get used to dropping the ball. Even when you "just miss" when using the smallest setting, you would've made the putt on the course bc the hole is regular size vs just the size of the ball. Excellent training aid!
