Shea Butter for Natural Hair Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream, 12 Fl Oz

Guy here. Hair is maybe 2-3" long all around. This stuff is so effective. Before I found this, my hair was wavy and could never seem to actually curl except for very certain circumstances. Would also dry out and frizz over the course of a day. Now? Put just a tiny bit of this stuff (seriously, the amount you'd put on your toothbrush) in your hair, being sure to distribute it everywhere evenly, and good heavens. Hair is soft to the touch (yet doesn't lose its shape/"memory" if I run my hands through it), keeps that moist look all day without feeling greasy and "contains" everything in the process, meaning significantly less frizz and no fluff--but most importantly, it coils my hair into absolutely stunning curls. It also doesn't stain my clothes. Re: smell: the fragrance in it is strong at first, but it smells good, and the smell becomes subtle quick once it dries out, so it's never as strong during the day as when you first apply it (ex.: no one has commented on the presence of the fragrance except my partner, but *everyone* has commented positively on the look of my hair) Also, for reference, this is my only hair product. I don't have a "hair routine". I get it wet, add the stuff, make sure it's spread everywhere, then proceed to go the entire day not worrying about it or checking on it, because it simply works, no maintenance. If your hair feels like it *wants* to be curly, but you can't manage to get it there... this is what you're looking for. It's set-and-forget, cheap (esp. considering you'll get a thousand "servings" out of a bottle) and might give you that look you feel like your hair has always been capable of.

I needed a new cream for my curly hair and saw this had many good reviews so I figured I would try it out! Let me say wow! Not only does it work great and leave my hair perfectly curly, without any greasy feeling, but it also SMELLS so good! A good clean natural fruit smell- which I Love- I hate creams that smell like chemicals- You don't have this here- A little goes a long way! Very Happy With it!

This is an AMAZING product; not only does it curl my curls, it also adds body to my hair. I've tried several curling products including the Cantu curling cream which didn't do anything except weigh down my hair. But, this CURL ACTIVATOR is the best product I've ever used on my hair. FINALLY, I have found the perfect curling product that does what its supposed to do. Thanks so much for this very effective product!!

I purchased this Cantu curl activator cream for my teenage son who has 2a curls, and it’s been a solid choice for his hair care routine. As any parent of a teenager knows, getting them to commit to an elaborate hair routine is nearly impossible, so I needed something simple but effective. This product fits the bill perfectly - just wash, condition, and apply. For my son’s hair type, this cream does exactly what it promises. It provides good moisture without making his hair greasy, helps with curl retention, and defines his natural curl pattern nicely. The smell is pleasant, which is always a bonus when you’re dealing with teenagers who are particular about these things. It eliminates frizz effectively and doesn’t weigh down his 2a curls, which can be a concern with heavier products. However, I learned an important lesson about hair porosity with this product. I also tried it on my other child, and it was a completely different story. Their hair has lower porosity, and the cream left a white film that took forever to work through and absorb. It just sat on top of the hair rather than penetrating and doing its job. This experience really highlighted how crucial it is to consider your hair’s porosity when choosing products. For higher porosity hair like my son’s, this cream absorbs well and provides the moisture and curl definition it promises. But for less porous hair, it can create buildup and that frustrating white residue. The product itself is good quality - it works well on various curl types from what I’ve seen, particularly thicker 3b/3c textures, and the 12 fl oz size gives you plenty to work with. Just make sure to consider your hair’s porosity before purchasing. Works wonderfully, defines curls, adds shine, and keeps hair moisturized, just as the bottle promises. I usually use ‘The Doux Texture Foam,’ but it can be pricey, so this is a great budget-friendly alternative. I love this to style my hair. I’m white with pretty curly hair. It gets frizzy and it’s dry. I put leave in conditioner on at night after my shower and in the morning I spritz water and then put this on to style. I leave it alone after making curls by scrunching and then later I scrunch again to get it to be softer and not look wet. Love how it moisturizes my hair and holds it.

works okay. I have shoulder length permed hair and was looking for something to put in next day, third day, fourth day hair to bring back the bounce and lessen the flyaways (not so much frizz). This worked the best on my first day hair. For sure had to reapply each morning (verrrrrry lightly as this is a wee bit on the heavy side). It goes on sort of sticky (you really need to use very little). I can see this being heavy if using too much. It's a pretty thick cream. It smells strongly of coconut, which, well, for me, isn't the best ~ not a fan of beachy scents on my skin or hair. It *does* tend to dissipate relatively quickly, but I can still smell it. My hair is soft using this product. All in all, it's a decent product and the ingredients are good. The price point is really good too. I'm not sure I'd buy it again because of the scent, but this should last me a good while.

Cantù does the job, restores the moisture and defines natural hair curl. No need to use every day.
