TL;DR: Works and looks great with the exception of the recorded message feature. I bought this autofeeder for my cat out of desperation. She meows incessantly for 45 minutes or more before meal times which annoys my dog into shriek howling with every meow and causes me to contemplate double murder. I've only had this feeder for a couple days but so far it is working great! My cat is still learning that she must appeal to her new machine overlord for food, but she is already much better than she was. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I will update my review if anything changes. PROS: - Easy set-up. It takes a few minutes but unless you're changing the schedule all the time for some reason, it's really not terrible. Some reviews claim you have to cycle through every time and portion to change something but that's not true. You can use the "+" and "-" buttons to navigate to the meal slot you want to change without starting from the beginning. Unused slots will have a time but if you set the portion to zero they will not dispense anything. This is probably obvious but it did confuse me for a second. I set mine to have 4 meals spaced 6 hours apart and it's been working like a charm. - No jamming problems even with larger kibble so far. The cat food I buy has larger chunks interspersed in with smaller kibble and I was worried that it might jam up the dispenser. So far it has been working just fine. It has a helpful sticker on the lid that shows you the largest kibble size it will accommodate and it seems to be accurate. I bought the 5L version which holds 4-5 lbs of food. - My devious cat has yet to figure out how to get extra kibble from it. The panel auto-locks so she can't press any buttons. I've seen her stick her paw up the chute to dig around but she hasn't succeeded in any extra snacks yet as far as I can tell. It's only been a few days so time will tell if she will use her demon powers to beat the machine. I would suggest either putting this feeder on the floor or securing it in place because I suspect that my cat would be able to push it off a table and/or knock it over of it was empty enough. The weight D batteries alone might make it relatively stable to tipping though. I have not actually seen her move it yet but I remain wary because she is a larger cat at 14 lbs and generally a menace to society*. - It seems well-made and is very sleek and modern looking. Appearance is less important than function to me but it does look quite nice. - I like that there is a battery meter display even when plugged in. I intend to have it plugged in all the time but it will be nice to know when the back-up batteries need to be replaced. - After completing set-up, I decided to move the feeder and had not installed batteries in it yet. I was expecting to reset at least the time but was pleasantly surprised to see it did not reset at all. It was unplugged for all of 10 seconds so I can't attest to how long it can go without power or batteries before resetting the time. - A customer service rep from PETLIBRO messaged me before my product arrived with some helpful tips and reminder that they have customer service available 24 hours on week days if I need it and a 12 month warranty. I have not had a need to contact customer service but I thought the pro-active message was nice. CONS: - It is not clear from anywhere in the instructions what constitutes a portion. From my measurements, it seems that one portion is equivalent to approximately 1/8 cup. I am happy with this portion size but I wish it had been clear without requiring experimentation on my part. - In my opinion, the only truly poor feature about this product is the recorded message option (whether you intend to use it or not). Other reviews mention that the recording quality is very poor and I have to agree. It is very staticy and mine also makes a rhythmic rasping noise even when recording silence. I had no intention of using this feature anyway as the sound of a pin drop would probably send her scrambling from across the house if it meant food. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to delete or turn off the recording without resetting the whole machine. I hit the record button by mistake during set-up, which is very easy to do, and I didn't want to start over. I "bypassed" it by hitting the record button quick succession to create as short of a recording as I possibly could. The quick blip of static when it dispenses food doesn't bother me but it is annoying you can't just turn this feature off all together. This is by no means a deal breaker to me but if having a nice recorded message is important to you, I would not recommend this feeder. - Not exactly a con but I prefer a shallow dish for feeding my cat. The bowl that comes with the feeder is deep but it is a nice bowl and I like that it has a tray that attaches to the feeder to keep it from being kicked around. Luckily her old shallow bowl fits nicely within the provided bowl and I haven't noticed any issues with spilling while doing this. Not a big deal but something to consider if it matters to you. *I promise that I actually love my cat very much! 😂 Picture attached. She's the best cat in the world... when she's not hungry.

I absolutely love the PETLIBRO Automatic Cat Feeder with Camera! It has been one of the best purchases I’ve made for my cats. The camera quality is amazing especially the night vision. Even in complete darkness, I can clearly see what my cats are doing. One of my favorite features is being able to record my own voice, so my cats hear me calling them when it’s time to eat. It’s such a cute and personal touch! The app is also fantastic. It sends me alerts when one of my cats is near the feeder, and if I want to give them an early meal or a little extra food, I can do it right from my phone. It’s super convenient, especially when I’m away from home. Everything about this feeder has exceeded my expectations. It’s reliable, easy to use, and packed with thoughtful features. I love this brand and will definitely continue buying PETLIBRO products. 5 stars all the way! 🌟🐱

A couple months ago, the camera stopped working. So I reset the thing. Took me a bit to figure that out, and the reset feature is faulty. Had to try several times to get it to reconnect to our wifi. I was very excited when it finally took and the camera started working again. BUT, since then, it won’t keep a feeding schedule. So now every night I have to reset the schedule for the next day because the buttons just turn off. This is getting very old, and I am thinking about purchasing another from another company which is a shame because I really like this one. It worked fine for the first few months. I like the interface and I think it’s one of the more attractive feeders out there. I keep hoping for a software update that can fix the issue, but perhaps I’m the only one experiencing this. I might try and email the company if I can find the address in their manual. For now, I will keep resetting the schedule every evening until I finally lose my patience. 10/14 - Soooo, I think they did an update that addressed this issue because there's an option available that wasn't present before. Now, when I look at the schedule settings, there's an option to repeat. I noticed that it said "never" right below the schedule. So, when I clicked through to the set up module, I see that it has options for repeat. "Never" is one, and it has a couple other options, "Everyday" and "Custom" (what ever that means). Because I didn't hesitate to choose, Everyday. And, now it works! So, I brought the stars up to 4. Now if the camera would work, that would be great because it stopped working. It's just a swirling black hole where my kitties should be. I'll probs have to reset (reboot) the whole thing to get that to work. I was successful doing this once because it stopped working before. Will update again when I do this.

I needed to replace an older version of this feeder that broke. The only version with two bowls was the wifi one. I don't need my cat food hooked up to the internet, but I figured it was fine, I'd just not connect it. Unfortunately, this device no longer has controls to set it up without the app. You MUST install the app, and you MUST agree to their privacy policy (which doesn't respect your privacy at all) just to feed your cat. You also have to create an account, you have to tell them what kind of pet you have (including the breed), what your pet weighs, if you think it eats enough, etc. Then before you can even start connecting your device, you're asked to sign up for a subscription service for over $100 a year. For what? I guess to track how much food they eat, to store video files it takes, and take notes. Don't worry though, you'll be asked at least 4 times before your cat is allowed even one morsel of food. After giving a fake email and lying about my pet's info, I decided to check out their privacy policy (that you have to agree to to feed your pet). Here are some highlights: - they collect sound and video (if it has a camera) from your device - they use that information to train AI - they sell that information to 3rd parties (as data to train AI models, not the AI model itself) and marketing firms - they don't "knowingly" record people under 16. But that means they knowingly record people above 16. Don't worry though, they "anonymize your pets data" 🙄 - When you contact support, it immediately authorizes them to view all video and sound related to your device - it specifically asks you to turn on face unlock for the app. I don't use face unlock for my phone. I have the fingerprint scanner set up, and most apps just prompt you to use the biometrics already on your phone. This feels suspicious, but I don't want to make any accusations of abuse without proof - They also collect usage information from your phone. Who knows where that ends, but app has a looong list of trackers built in, and with everything they hoard off the service itself, I don't have high hopes. The best part of all that is they want you to pay them for the privilege of selling your data. You have to trust they aren't keeping and selling more than they say they are, and that they won't have any security flaws that let people hack into your feeder's camera either through your account or locally Look, this is a pet food dispenser. It just needs to feed my cats. It doesn't need a camera, a microphone, internet access, recordings of what's happening in my house, the breed of my cat, or any of this other nonsense. If these were OPTIONAL features for people who are trying to monitor their cats health, that'd be a little more understandable. But you cannot use this device offline, and you can't feed your cats unless you agree to let them train AI with their faces. This product is being blocked from my network and will be returned as soon as I'm back from my trip.

I was looking for a highly rated and reliable dual dry food cat feeder and everywhere. I looked kept recommending this one. I went back and forth about whether or not I wanted to upgrade for the camera and I'm so glad I did. It has become a ritual even when I'm not there with the cats to check in on them during meal times. I also love that I can record a voice message so they listen for my voice and know it's time to eat. And of course I saw all those cute videos of cats listening for the sound and then running to their bowl and I was so hopeful that mine would do that and they do! It really is so sweet. As for this particular feeder, I am overall very impressed. The app was really intuitive and has been extremely reliable. The camera quality is decent as well and switches from black and white to color. Depending on the time and light. I would say the food dispenses a little less evenly than I would prefer. Sometimes it seems like more goes in one side than the other, but my cats do not hoard food so it ends up working out fine. I did have to do a little research to figure out how much to be feeding them because it was a little unclear but there are resources available to help you figure it out. I really am pleased with this purchase and I'm going to be looking at this brand for other smart cat tech in the future.

This is an edit to my original review due to dispensed portion size. It's confusing in the app that it reads 1/12cups and I understood that to be 1 feed out of 12 cups, when I discovered, it's actually 1/12th of a cup (ie: to dispense 1 cup of food, you need to do 12/12 cup manual feeds). Still kinds of wonky, but workable. I wish the hopper had multiple slots for dumping food. The portions are sporadic in quantity. The dual bowl splitter to separate the morsels to go into each dish is a gimmick and one dish always gets more than the other (despite changing the splitter positions). Setup was easy - like SUPER EASY! I ordered a different brand and got it the nite before I ordered this one. The other one was CHEAP and it wouldn't connect after 2.5 hours of trying and married to a system tech so it wasn't 'user error', hence the reason I decided to go with 'the big rater' out there and glad I did. The video quality is SUPERB!! live stream is amazing. Downside, you can either pay for a subscription to store videos and images, or buy an SD card. This isn't disclosed until you've unpackaged it, set it up and are within the app when that page pops up. I have an SD card, and signed up for a subscription - I wasn't totally 'sure' that all video's would save on the card so played it safe. Sound quality is awesome and the nite vision is absolutely amazing. I wish the food tank was vacuum sealed like on another PetLibro model. All in All, I am super, super happy with this and it will allow me to have some peace while on my first vacation in 10 years. Husband will be home with the kitties, but I can't 'trust' him that he'll fill their bowls before he leaves for work in the morning or at nite before bed - sad really - so this will give me the ability to keep my babies fed and KNOW they'll get food! 1. The feeder itself is fine, it’s pretty easy to set up and it always dispenses food at the correct times. It’s easy to clean because the bowls come up and the sound of it dispensing food is pretty quiet. That being said, this thing never dispenses the same amount of food twice. I feed my cats 1 cup total of food from this per day because I have a little glutton and sometimes I’ll wake up in the morning and there’s a whole cup sitting there. Pictured is “1/6 of a cup.” I’m trying to keep my cats on a diet but i may need to stop using this to better control their portions. 2. The app is TERRIBLE. The user experience is pretty horrible, the UI around setting up feedings is unintuitive and the recorded video features are really buggy and half the time just don’t work. Sometimes the app just decides not to connect to the device (I know my internet is fine!!) and I can’t tell it to feed my cats extra meals when I’m away. At first I was so happy to be able to check in on my kitties while I was away but I quickly realized it was too much of a hassle. If they improved the reliability and user experience of the app this would be a lot more convenient.

Bought this after owning the latest/ greatest wifi pet feeder, which always needed to be reconnected after a power outage or any time it was knocked off internet. After countless hours and being unable to figure out a pet feeder that was supposed to make life easier, I went searching for one with just a simple timer, and this is it! I have had this over 1 year now, and have not had to reset anything since I first set up the portions. It still goes off at the same exact time I set. It doesn't account for daylight savings, but I don't even change it, because she's hungry at that time anyways. Bought this for my 86 lb. Giant Schnauzer, so the portion is set to feed almost 2 cups twice a day. I only have to fill it every week and a half or 2 weeks. It does not alert when it is out, but my dog let's me know. Much less headache then the wifi connected ones! My old one used to get jammed up also, this has never jammed up on me. Couldn't be happier with my simple timed feeder, thank you!

Very happy with the feeder! A great option for a single-cat household. The setting-up process is a bit of a hassle but the machine is always responsive so you get used to it. I only wish that the portions were a little smaller so that I can have more control over the quantity of food. I find that for my cat, 1 portion is too little but 2 portions is too much. Nonetheless, once you figure out an overall system for your cat's food, it works out.

I absolutely love this product! I no longer have to wake up at 6 AM to feed my cats, and the built-in camera lets me check on them anytime. It’s a game changer!
