The Tao of Tea, Topaz Puer Pu-er Tea, Loose Leaf, 3.5 Ounce Tin

Now my favorite tea! To be honest this is my first taste of Pu-er but I am loving my first cup. I had to double-take the sniff test because it is barely there (aroma). But the flavor is nice and smooth.

It was my first time trying this tea and I gotta say the first thing is how it smells both when you open it and when it's brewed its soo good! It came a day early and it's super fresh. It's super smooth and real dark and earthy I love it. As for how long it lasts if you do it in the traditional gongfu style it'll go for about fifteen steps so it's super good for the price I paid. It taste so good it has this really deep dark chocolate flavor to it that my wife and I love. With it I don't want anymore soda or any sweet drinks it's gotten me completely off the sugary drinks.

I have been drinking the numi emperors puerh. Amd loved it , but when I tried this. It’s sooo much smoother and silkier and milder. This is what High quality priority should taste like according to a Chinese article of tea connoisseurship. This tea taste like fresh pure sweet spring water with no bitterness and rich sophisticated mushroomy flavor. Also this is a lot of tea for this price, and the box is much bigger than I expected. Some other comments talked about the fishy smell, yes. Some types of puerh tea have fishy smell but it doesn’t mean that it’s expired it’s just growing in the coastal region in China. Also the fishy smell will not be in the tea. You can only smell it from the dry leaves.

It was good, but not what I was looking for. If you like this in tea leaf form, it works great, nice flavor but I like my pu’er stronger so I prefer a crystal format.

I have been drinking this Pu-er tea almost daily for a couple of years. It was consistent and wonderful until my last order. When my last order came in it had the same label, but was in a different container, no longer all metal. Far worse, the taste had changed completely. Instead of the rich, deep, complex tea I was used to it tasted weak and oddly grassy. I will probably force my way through the three cans I bought, and then I'll order one more to see if it was a fluke. If it returns to what it was, I'll come back and update my review.

Love this tea! I drink a cup every morning as soon as I wake up. Unlike other teas, such as Earl Grey or green tea, this one doesn’t upset my stomach or make me feel nauseous. It’s become my favorite morning tea!

It didn't even have any typical puer flavor which was very disappointing. It's just regular black tea. :( There is absolutely no depth. Not even sure if it was fermented at all. Will not purchase again.

I have never had a bad cup from the Tao of Tea company. Plus, you can read the labels that tell you exactly what the tea is like. I also appreciate that they tell you how many times you can reuse the tea leave (twice, at least three times, etc) which makes it clear they want you to enjoy the tea, not just make a buck off of you. I also really enjoy the double lid the containers have. It's like each batch of tea deserves its own special container. As far as this Pu-er tea goes, I found it to be dark and earthy like the label says. It's just a nice complex taste without any bitterness. Very nice!

It has a slight sea smell which is indicative of pu erh tea that needs ageing a little more. In any case, it is only slight and doesn’t affect taste. I’ve shopped around and it’s hard to get quality pu erh tea in England to be honest. I would recommend this and if you find something better let me know.

I often drink Oolong tea but this is a step up in favour and colour. Well packaged for freshness. A cup of tea can last all day topped up with hot water and still taste as good. Highly recommend it
