Impressive for the Price
The media could not be loaded. I was about 75 feet away from the speakers in this video. I would say the volume was still 100db, maybe a bit less. The two Mackie Thrash speakers are on the far right, with the JBL on the far left. So I normally use a pair of JBL SRX812P for my usual indoor musical performances. This outside event just needed more sound for the crowd of 1000+ people during the fireworks show. I picked up a pair of these Thrash 212 speakers to add that extra volume and wall of sound to the viewing area. Now, the SRX line of speakers are absolutely at least two steps above these Thrash in both volume ability and musical quality. That said, one SRX812P is four times the price of one Thrash. The Thrash performed very well for what I was looking for. I had the volume cranked up as loud as they would go to be louder than this fireworks show. The overload light would blink occasionally, but they kept going. The qualify of sound was certainly good enough for this application. Turning them down during testing I was pleasantly surprised of the sound quality. The bass from that 12" woofer is lacking, but it has a nice punch that you could hear, but not really feel. The highs were balanced well and I didn't feel like an ice pick was jabbing into my ear. I didn't feel like an EQ was needed to dial them in. I did like the rear handle placement, as I was able to wrap hanging cords around that bottom handle during the setup. Also I liked the knob on the pole mount hole that lets you tighten it up to keep it from rotating on the pole.

Amazing speaker for its price
The sound quality is great, I hooked it to my CDJs and it was enough to throw a party in the house! Amazing quality for this price!

50Hz Hm And Distortion
The media could not be loaded. Speaker has a very noticable 50 Hz hum. Distortion at higher than 50% computer input is absoluty aweful. I own many powered speakers, this is the worst I have ever heard. I do not know if this is a one off wonka speaker as I have heard other Mackie's that sounded great. Since I am using this for my primary entertainment home speaker, it may be going back. Specs indicate less than <1% distortion, which in my case is NOT accurate. Also indicates ability to get to 20Hz, nowhere near it.

Great Speaker
It works well and with the inputs and controls as well as the pole mount, it's great for gigs.

Not worth the money. I returned them.
Mackie used to a brand you could rely on and now they are making products that aren’t worth your time. The volume potentiometers are very noisy and don’t adjust much until you get to 80% and it’s extremely touchy from 80% to 100%. I bought a pair and one of them arrived defective. Wouldn’t even produce sound. The sound that came out of the one that worked didn’t sound very good. Spend a little more money to get the Yamaha DBR series. They sound better, work better, and I’ve put them through a lot and they don’t quit on me.
