Biltong Slicer Bamboo Base with Carbide Knife Shapener

Love my biltong slicer, the knife edge is very sharp so watch your fingers especially when you clean it after use. It slices easily through wet as well as very dry biltong although for the drier and bigger chunks of biltong I feel like it might be a bit on the small and light side. So if you make your own biltong keep it on the thin side for easy slicing.

I produce large quantities of beef jerky using a professional jerky slicer. That means the strips are very long. this has enabled me to cut and package my jerky in an incredibly short period of time as opposed to how we used to cut it with culinary scissors! it does what it is intended to do, it is easy to use, and it is easy to clean! I would recommend this to anybody that needs this type of device.

Definitely makes cutting biltong a lot easier. However, the curved blade doesn't allow a clean cut using the guide. I have to put my biltong in the center of the board for a nice slice.

I was very disappointed with this slicer. Although made out of very good materials and looks sleek, it just doesn't cut all the way, with the pieces remaining attached to each other. You have to finish the job off with a knife and the final look is less than ideal.

When I tighten the nut the knife goes on an angle. If I loosen it so it's not on an angle then the knife moves around a lot. Not sure if that's supposed to happen, but it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for.

This makes slicing biltong so much easier. I used to hurt my hand pressing down on the knife while cutting biltong. This makes it quick and easy to cut a whole slab of biltong in one go.

bought as a present, and had to miss because it was missing an important piece. I was able to return and get a new one, now it’s missing the Allen wrench. I first wrote a great review. Now this is the most honest review I can write.

This slicer works as good as any other hand biltong slicer I have used. I sliced 10 lbs of biltong without any issues.
