Makes me so happy
I've had this thing for a little over a year now. After a year of nearly constant vinyl spinning, I could not be happier with how this turntable has performed. It sounds fantastic, it's beautifully designed, it's super easy to use, and I have had no issues whatsoever with it. I've used and listened to a number of similarly spec'd turntables in the past and this thing is truly a beast. Full bass, warm mids, and crystal clear treble - it's just that signature velvety vinyl tone.I've got it plugged into a Sonos Play:5, which broadcasts beautiful, lush vinyl tones - over wifi - to speakers throughout my apartment. All you do is spin the plate, drop the needle, and enjoy. Nothing better than listening to my dad's old records crackle beautifully in hi-fi over wifi.

Great turntable at this pricepoint
The design and components of this turntable are very classy. The operation is very smooth and satisfying. Cartridge is probably worth upgrading. A clear and full sound. Ultimately a great value.Connected to a Marantz 2220 receiver and Boston Acoustic 2-way bookshelf speakers.

I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION
I made my decision to purchase the TN 400S over the TN 300 larger due to the conversation I had with a rep from crutchfield, who was very high on the TEAC TN 300 but after reviewing the specs on the TN 400S, he said that there was an upgrade on the built in amp and the drive system was improved a bit as well. I made my purchase a month ago and so far the TT has worked beautifully. The set up was easy and after purchasing a scale, my tonearm is tracking at 1.5g, no problem. I'm not a technically minded person, but I can truly say that this TT is a thumbs up. I'm running it through a mid level Yamaha receiver which is powering my Polk satellite speaker system. Purchasing it through Amazon was a breeze. I received it with next day delivery and sure enough, it was at my doorstep the next day. Way to go Amazon!

Product develops low frequency HUM must read review
Product develops a low frequency HUM after a few months of use. Product description states 100% Money Back but when you contact amazon they tell you that it is out off the window of return. Manufacture has nothing on there web site where you can return for MONEY BACK BEWARE !!! Of this product read full product details where it briefly states 100% MONEY BACK. and i am well within the one year warranty.

Motor noise a major drawback
Most things about this turntable fit its price point. Okay stylus, flexibility with multiple outputs, and three speeds (having a 78rpm speed is the main reason I chose this model over others in this range). There is plenty of motor noise when not using the preamp, which is a major drawback. The noise goes away when using the preamp with an auxiliary input so the problem is bearable but not usable in the way I would like.Look into something else unless you only plan to play records at really low volume or must have 78 rpm AND an attractive chassis.

I wanted to play 78s and wanted a little better sound. This is a beautiful turntable
Bought this to replace an old Sony turntable from the '90s. I wanted to play 78s and wanted a little better sound. This is a beautiful turntable. Sound is fantastic although my receiver is an old Denon from about 20 years ago. It would probably sound even better if I upgrade the rest of my gear. Maybe someday. It took me a while to figure out the whole manual counter-balancing. At first, I had the arm too heavy and sound was very staticy. Almost packed it up to return but then I saw a YouTube video how to adjust the counter-balancing. Once I did that, sound was fantastic. This turntable does not have automatic start or stop. That's kind of annoying and easy to forget the record is just spinning and spinning while grounding down your cartridge. I don't regret the purchase.

Looks nice, plays well, may look for a cartrige upgrade someday
I am not a snooty audiophile - I just remember the old days when i bought the best audio equipment i could. This is a decent unit plays well and looks great. I plan on pairing it with a tube amplifier in the 300.00- 400.00 range as well as some vintage bose or jbl speakers
