🔪 Sharpen like a pro, stay a cut above the rest!
The HornTide 7-inch dual-sided whetstone features 600 grit for coarse blade repair and 1500 grit for fine edge refinement. Made from durable white corundum, it supports both water and oil sharpening methods and includes a silica gel non-slip base for safe, stable use—ideal for kitchen, outdoor, and precision knives.

Best general-purpose sharpening stone
This is a great stone. The material seems to be the same friable aluminum oxide used for bench grinding carbides and tool steels. It works great for hard tool steel knives and soft kitchen knives and everything in between. I have a bunch of sharpening stones and this 600/1500 combination stone is the most uniform and fastest cutting material in the two most useful grits. If I could only keep one stone it would be this one.

Much lower grit than labeled
The stone works perfectly fine but I would say the 600 grit side is considerably lower, maybe closer to 100-150 grit if compared to sandpaper, rather than 600. So while this doesn't satisfy my need that i bought it for, it helps with establishing new bevels and edges on my chisels and plane irons when I need to remove a lot of metal quickly. It works but is not labeled appropriately. This is a cheap combination stone, you'll get what you pay for. If you want high quality then you'll have to spend more, if you need to remove metal quickly and not expect an edge matching 1500 grit, this is a fine stone. Like I said, I won't be buying any more low grit sandpaper when I need to establish a new primary bevel, I'll use this.

Excellent for fillet (thin) knives!
It's taking a while to learn the proper technique, but the stone itself is great. I can make any fillet knife slice paper every time. It has a hard time with a 440A/C combat knife, but I'm not sure how sharp you can get those in the first place. I can cut paper with the 440A steel, but not as cleanly as the Fillet knives. I keep mine stored in a Tupperware container with water so it's always ready.

Good stone!
My first whetstone, and it is a champ! It sharpens my paring knife, veggie knife, and chef knife with ease. A good balance of grains. I bought angle guides to go with it as the knives are all different origin and I didn't want to ruin them which seems pretty easy. My only gripe is that the white site is easily marked.

there is better out there
I wish I'd spent my money on a King/Kotobuki stone. This one is OK, but a little soft and less effective. If you're looking for a quality product, there is better out there. Also, I thought the 600/1500 would be a good do-it-all grit, but after buying and using this one, I'd recommend the King 250-1000. I think the 600 grit is not quite coarse enough to begin. 300 or less is probably better.
