What do you do when you can't find your tape measurer, you buy another one. My wife says that's my solution for everything, but all kidding aside, this unit is the same one that I've used for twenty years and by far the best value and sturdiest of the other ones I have. You can't go wrong with this purchase. Now if I can just remember where I put it.

When I was kid, there was only one rule when it came to dad's tools--hands off the tape measure. As an adult with a young son, I now understand why this was a rule. Yeah, yeah, a tape measure isn't the safest thing for the little guy to play with, BUT I discovered the rule wasn't about safety. Of course it wasn't. The rule was because kids have a way of ruining the locking mechanism on these things. I bought this Stanley as a replacement for a tape my kid managed to ruin. Despite the rule. While I feel like this mechanism is better designed, I'm still hiding my tape. As for a review, it's built well, and the lock seems to hold firmly. I think you'll like it too, but just in case, put this in your tackle box or someplace where others won't find it.

Nice size tape measure that is very durable. The pricing was the best I have seen in years.

Worked for 15 years as a scenic carpenter and these are the tapes I used. Good snap back, good steel case, as accurate as any tape measurer. No brainer choice if you want a metal box instead of plastic.
