Q: How is this unit powered?

Hello Kathy, The 5in1 sensor uses 4 AA batteries for power. For optimal use we do recommend running the display on the provided adapter as the main source of power and the batteries as the intended back up only. If you are running on battery power the backlight will only be lit momentary when the backlight button is pressed. Q: Can you tell me how fast the response time is from the wind sensor to the display panel to show accurate current wind speed? Most units have a delay.

In the shade in NJ the thermometer reads 94 degrees and 46% humidity, in the sun with the weather station it reads 93 degrees and 48% humidity, on line its 92 and 41% .

Q: Does the 01540M 5-in-1 require the purchase of the mounting bracket/pole? I see some of these questions for other models where the pole was included

Hello Diane, The weather station will come with a mounting bracket. A mounting pole does not come with the station and would need to be purchased separately. We recommend using a 3/4 schedule 40 pipe which will have an outer diameter of 1 inch.
