AQUATEC ERP 500 PERMEATE PUMP ERP500 PERMEATE PUMP With 1/4" JG INSERTS MOUNTING HARDWARE INCLUDING CLIP AND SCREWS

I have an iSpring RO100 unit with a 3.2 Gallon storage tank. My city water pressure is about 70PSI, but the water flow at the kitchen sink RO faucet was low. The automatic shutoff switch was kicking out at approximately 40PSI, my educated guess. I meant to order the ERP-1000 which is good for 100GPD, but screwed up and ordered the ERP-500 which is good for 50GPD. Anyway I decided to install the ERP-500 to see what improvement I might get. I followed the instructions , re-plumbed the various RO hoses and tossed the auto shutoff valve. Also set the empty RO storage tank pressure to 10PSI. After everything was installed, unit started up and is running fine. Water flow at the faucet is about twice the previous rate. This is because the reserve tank pressure is probably in the 63-65-ish range. RO unit and permeate pump are installed in basement and a line extends to the refrigerator and kitchen sink area. When I am within 3 feet or so of the permeate pump, I can hear a soft pulsating/clicking sound, but it is not very loud nor annoying. This is a very inexpensive way to improve water flow from a RO unit; and to get RO water flow pressure closer to input line pressure; and get improved RO water flow; and to also reduce waste water from the RO unit. So I am very pleased.

If you have an RO system you should have this pump. I had a pressure pump that did not help at all and ended up leaking and ruining a door. After removing the pressure pump and installing this Permeate pump, the RO operation improved greatly. Better flow and pressure, more efficient and does not use any electricity.

But in reading the Watts Permeate pump installation directions for our Kwik-Change RO system (available online) I learned I needed to tee the holding tank and faucet lines to the permeate clean water output port on the pump, after disconnecting and plugging the blue line elbow above the green filter (membrane cartridge). Now it works great. In our before and after RO/brine water production tests, our 1 to 9 ratio dropped to 1 to 5, almost a 50% waste water reduction. This amounts to a 300-gallon monthly reduction. Yes, it is easy to install after you know what you are doing. But don't assume anything as I did, because you will be wrong.

Item arrived today. Took me longer to document and take pics of the existing setup than it did to hook everything up. My RO filter mount didn't have pre drilled holes for this, but that was easy for me to accomplish. 20 mins later I had the pump installed. No leaks is always a bonus. Followed the instructions. Water pressure on the good water, ie permeate, is totally noticeable. From the RO faucet to the ice maker and water on the fridge. That was the main problem to solve. I've read about TDS creep when you remove the ASV as they recommend. I think we run enough water on the daily here where that shouldn't be an issue, but I plan to monitor and have plans in place if that occurs, not for this review. The unit I just received is indeed rather silent, no more noticeable than when regular discharge occurred. Initially, I ordered the 100GPD version, returned and didn't even attempt install as the reviews mentioned loud clicking when the unit was "working". This 50gpd unit is definitely not clicking nor noticeable. If anything I think it's an awesome intention all around. For those concerned about tds creep, to each situation their own. Again, plenty of ways to deal with that, if that becomes an issue. So far, in 2 hours, I can see a difference in the pressure on the end points, so we'll see how my ice maker responds. Holding out that 5th star for future results, but I'm optimistic overall. This is not a paid or compensated review, ie. I didn't get a penny for writing this quality review. Took more time to write this review than it did to install the unit.

Perfect for a 75gpd Filmtec. R/O I built up my 2050 Pentair/Omni r/o Epd 500 pump. 75 gpd filmtec dow. 550 flow/flush restrictor. And the REAL gray ASOV Valve. It all together, cut water usage on waste. And the tank fills fast. The only thing I'd recommend? Is a mineral add filter, after the tank to the faucet.

The pump has worked great for over year to bring the system to pressure but now it does not turn back on automatically to recharge the system. I do not have an auto shut off valve. Presently, system will only generate a normal amount of RO water if I disconnect and reconnect the brine in line from the permeate pump. Water flows quickly from the brine line after I disconnect it and as soon as I reconnect it, I hear the brine draining to the drain and the permeate pump starts clicking and working as it should. It will fill up the tank easily with low TDI water, but as I use the water from the tank, it won't start producing water again until I do that same disconnect and reconnect on the brine in to the permeate pump.

Does exactly what I hoped. Definite reduction in the amount of waste water. And capacity/flowrate has improved. Noise is almost unnoticable. Wrapped in small towel to buffer. Simple installation.

Works exactly as described, didn’t even know these were a thing till I was reading reviews on different reverse osmosis systems. It definitely builds a lot more pressure in the tank. It makes a funny noise as it cycles back and fourth to build the pressure back up in the tank after use. I posted a video what it sounds like. Only makes the noise for a bit while it builds pressure back up in the tank.
