can this be used on the top of a wooden stool? if so how could it be attached?

I really don't know!!!! My bar stool is metal. Therefore, it already had predrilled holes to attach. I suppose it might work, if you are pretty handy with a tool!!!!

I may replace a fender stool. th fender stool i a rigid box with a thin layer foam rubber on it. disappointing. is this seat an actual cushion?

It's definitely a cushion. The foam is at least three inches thick. Most comfortable barstool seat ever.

How much weight can the seat hold?

I’m 250 lbs. and it doesn’t even know I’m on it. This seems like a well built durable seat cushion. I’ve been very pleased with the purchase!
