Read that fortiflora feline works wonders for diarrhea. How long does it take for product to work?

In general for this question or any other, if your cat has terrible diarrhea, this product, has saved my cat's lives. Most cats like it, I had one cat, that had straight diarrhea, after I had taken him to the vet and saved him, because somebody threw him out in middle of winter, he was so sick. Well the shots to get him better gave him diarrhea, they gave me stuff from the vet, to stop it, it didn't stop it, and I tried all kinds of different products and I tried all kinds of different diets, and nothing works, but this did. It saved his life, it's saving another cash like that I have right now, and you can't go by the directions, what you need to do, if they like it is put it on every a type of wet food you can give them not dry, wet, I mean I guess you could try it on dry but they're really going to get it in the wet food, and go ahead and just put as much as you need to come and order a box a week. I have three cats, they all love it, and so I give it to all of them, because it's good for them but the one, he has to have it, enough, he's having a problem walking and different things, because he has some kidney problems, but this has vitamins in it, as well as other things, that have literally saved my cat's lives turn the stool solid, even my cat now, when he starts to have more of a problem walking, I up the dosage on this, and just give him more, and I just ordered a box a week and it just give him more and more and more, you cannot give him then too much of this. Once their stools get solid, sometimes you can never take them off if it comes so it can get very expensive yes, but, you could also try it for 6 months or something like that or a few months, and see where you stand and then lower the dosage, and see if it is fixed the problem. Depending on where your cat came from, if it was a rescue, if it came from outside, even if it has a health issue, yes, it should always be taken to the vet, but never ruled out this product, ever. The reason I'm mentioning this, and I'm writing this review, which I don't normally do, is because it is literally saving one of my animals lives right now, and it saved his best friend, when I saved him off the street, and he pretty much had pneumonia. He had to go back for his shots three times, because he was so sick, and those shots, will give him a real kick in the butt, as far as causing diarrhea, even though they clear up any respiratory infections or anything else. This stuff is magical, but if you really read into it it has vitamins, it has a lot of things in it, that are essential, do not rule it out, and do not replace it with anything else, cuz there is nothing else that is better out there than this. You need to up your dosage, not change products. You need to give him three packs a day give them three packs a day. It cost money, but so does putting your cat down.. or trying a million products. That's just my two cents, it's what works for me, some cats don't like it, I've heard that, I guess they're aliens, because every other cat that I've ever seen has loved this stuff I don't know what's in it, but it's like kitty crack. Except, it saves their lives I am not trying to sell this product. I am trying to help you with your animals. I've worked with animals, and I've worked with animal rescue for 9 years. But I've had animals my whole life, nothing is worked like this. Sometimes you can find deals on it, you can get three boxes for a certain amount, I know my mom has done that for me, you know the best thing to do is try to find deals, you might have to go through a box a week like I said, that's what I do, and yes it's expensive, but if you can get better deals on it, sometimes you can go to chewy I don't know where my mom goes, but sometimes you can get three boxes for 30, sometimes you can go on here, and get it overnight if you need it, which is God send, but, do not roll this product out, and up your dosage. You're not giving them enough, if it's not working.

Can anyone clarify what last ingredient, D-4583, is? (Someone told me it was "boot black"/carbon?)

Not a chemist or biologist, but from the responses here concerning D-4583 being a product from a form of carbon during the carbon making process, it is likely simply just carbon. Ingesting carbon (AKA black charcoal) for food poisoning is commonly heard of. Does it help, shrugs. Likely why it's either no longer included or why it was omitted from the ingredients list. Not listed on my 1/2023 purchased box from what I can see.

The pic does not have the word Probiotic on the box like what I got from the vet. Is it the same product?

You are right, it does not say the word Probiotic but it is a probiotic. The back of the box says: "Contains guaranteed amounts of live active cultures. Proven to promote intestinal health & balance.
