I have had back problems for years; mostly upper back. I am constantly on the look out for things that will help relieve the pain. I bought another one of Gideon Sports products that I found helpful (Gideon™ Neck and Shoulder Therapeutic Dual Trigger Point Self-Massage Tool) so I looked up what else they had and saw this. I have a Theracane and a couple of other Trigger Point release products. The reviews of this product sounded so good, I thought I'd try it. This works pretty well. Somehow it works much better than the Theracane or other products I have. Maybe it's all the knobs or the way the leverage is built in- but this is really nice. It also works well as a myofascial release tool. I've been experimenting with the reflexology and I was surprised how well it worked at that. If your thinking about buying it- go ahead. It's a great product and a very reasonable price. I liked it so much, I bought another one for a friend. UPDATE: I do use this still quite a bit. It didn't solve my back problems, but it does provide temporary relief. It's funny that a product costing approx. $23 can provide so much relief and help so much.

Not sure why but I didn't expect it to be as big and heavy as it is. That's a good thing because while for me it could be smaller and be fine, my husband is a big guy. You know it will work for people of all sizes. It's all very sturdy and heavy so no matter how much pressure applied, it's going to be able to withstand it. Even though it's big, because it's got such a slim profile it's very easy to store as you can just slip it under a bed or wherever you have a narrow space. As far as the usage goes, it's awesome for reaching those hard to reach pressure points. My chiropractor gave me instructions on where exactly to apply pressure and this is the perfect tool. It's really helped to relieve some of my neck pain. Bonus... it came with a little book that described how you can used it to apply pressure to reflexology points on your feet as well. Very neat!

When I first opened the package this cane hook massager was very intimidating and I was not sure what to do with it and how to use it. This is a handheld self-massager that is good because I can control the pressure VS going to a massage therapist that digs in me with their elbows etc. And it is not a hundred dollars a visit!I have severe pain in my neck, shoulders and back so I have tried a lot of therapeutic products and treatments. This cane really digs into the knots that are causing the pain and loosens the tension and gives me some temporary relief. I am very tender so I need to be very gentle on my body soI massage myself very gently in a rocking motion.Another thing I really like about this is I can use it on my feet by stepping on one of the knobs. Reflexology is so good for the body and the manual gives a picture of the different body points for doing reflexology to your self.The directions were somewhat confusing for me. So I got on the Internet watched some videos and read about cane type massagers. It would be great if this came with a more comprehensive manual, an e-book or video showing detailed instructions.There are numbers 1-9 on the various treatment knobs and I still have to figure out the many ways that I can use this on other parts of my body. It is an adventure in healing!!! If you are looking for help for just about any muscle tension or aches I think this product could be great.

I don't normally give out 5 stars. In fact, this might be my first ever on Amazon. There are a lot of reviews from people on here claiming that this is confusing to use. I did not find that to be the case. This is a very durable heavy plastic, and allows me to exert deep pressure in all the areas I couldn't previously reach. I am a person who is constantly working out trigger points, the more pressure the better. I can see why people not used to trigger point techniques may not like this, because it allows for very strong pressure on a very small point. Of the 4-5 trigger point devices I own, this is by far my favorite. I even prefer to use it on areas that I can reach with other devices, like the Pecs, quads, or hamstrings. My only warning is that it may be difficult for larger people to use. I have a 46 inch chest, and it works, but I suspect I would be frustrated and have difficulty if I was slightly to moderately larger.

The concept of this product is great but there are a few things about it that didn't work for me. First, the grip is not round; it's rectangular, so when you are grabbing it and pulling forward to apply pressure, it's just not ergonomically comfortable. Second, on bare skin, as other reviewers pointed out, where the moulding joins the top and bottom halves of the product, it is not smooth so it cuts into your skin. The third thing that I didn't like about it was that points 2, 3/4 are spaced a little too far apart. I was hoping these points would help apply pressure to the base of my neck right above my shoulders but my neck isn't that big so when I slip the cane over behind my head, it's a complete miss and the points come out to the sides of my neck and too far forward to even be useful.The product itself is a great concept but it is a little bulky to use. I ended up getting the Thera Cane which doesn't have all the different rounded/pointed points that this one has. The grip and smootg rounded finish of the Thera Cane is much more comfortable and is less bulky and, in my opinion, easier to maneuver and still offers the same features to target specific problem areas.
