Old English Scratch Cover For Dark Woods, 8 fl oz Bottle, Wood Polish

We have used this product for over 20 years and it has performed flawlessly. It covers scratches and nicks really well.

The Old English brand has always made good wood products & I've used them for years. I have a couch & matching chair with block like feet that have gotten dinged up by vacuums, etc. over time & needed a bit of refurbishing. They are a very dark, dark walnut & when I rubbed this stain into them, everythiing was covered. The legs now look great. I put a nice coat of polish on them after they were finished and I'm totally pleased with this scratch cover. I've used the lighter scratch cover on table tops with good results as well. The only thing anyone needs to remember is that you are covering in scratched away color but the depth of any scratch still remains to be filled in if needed. The dark stain worked perfectly for me because I had mostly scuffs and no deep cuts in the wood. It did the job.

We have an all white kitchen, but we chose to do our island in espresso finish, big mistake. You can see all the dust and every little nick and blemish. Anyway, I’ve always wanted to touch it up so that it would look nicer. I bought this product based on the good reviews. I just applied it and I am a little underwhelmed. See my attached before and after photo. It definitely made a difference, so I will probably use it on other parts of the island. But I was expecting a little more saturation and dark color. I also don’t know how long it will hold up because the cabinetry does get wiped down every week or other week. Fingers crossed! All in all for the price, I’d say it worth it and may worth better on other types of finishes. ***update*** So I used this for a second application to my front door that was sort of worn and tired. It worked amazingly well! I have upgraded my review to five stars. See photo attached, the before picture to the left shows the tired old door- to the left, a section that I started to apply the product vs old tired finish and then you can see the full door finished to the right after a full application. Fingers crossed it lasts!

Same stuff your grandma used so it works on REAL wood

Works wonders for dingy scratched dark wood furniture. I specifically used this on kitchen and bathroom cupboards.

Nice polish to cover up scratches My pecan bookcases have been moved 16 times through the years. When they were new I would stress over any marks. With this I don't mind the scratches as much anymore. I cover them with a q-tip let it dry then polish with clear lemon oil. The wood has naturally aged and gotten darker through the years. Works just as well as my antique mahogany, cherry and golden oak furniture. Leaves a beautiful blended glow where my grandfather's hands wore through the stain on his chair many years ago. The only wood I've not used it on is teak and cedar. The scratches on them don't seem to show.

This is great stuff! First time I have used it and I couldn't be happier. We just put a brand new wood floor down in our office and unfortunately for me I had a little accident and and put about an inch long scratch (not deep) in the floor. I was not happy about that. This stuff made the scratch 'disappear' like magic! I know right where the scratch is and I have a hard time finding it; it worked that good! And a little goes a long way. I liked it so much I ordered the product for the 'light' wood too.

Good cover

I use it to restore my dark furniture. It covers nicks and scratches and restores damaged the furniture. It is an excellent product to have on hand.

Applied with a soft cloth and using light, even strokes this product enhanced our dining table, sideboard and nest of coffee tables. All are over 25 years old. Needs to be left to absorb into the wood and dry without further polishing for a week or two. Great Product.

Ease of application: Excellent item, coverage, and finish.

Beautiful finish, still see surface scratches.
