Good Pipe Expander
I needed to attach several 2 inch exhaust pieces, used a 3/4 inch impact and it worked. However it was very noisy, there had to be another way, adapt Hydraulics. I realized theLisle kit used the same threads as my Harbor freight 10 ton knockout set. I hooked up thepump and ram and inserted large adapter thread, short end into the ram, I also used thechrome spacer included in the HF kit onto the threaded shaft. I proceeded to put the smallestexpander with the square locking nut from the Lisle kit, screwed it down by hand. The pipemust be lubed. Being in the kitchen due to the rain I used canola oil cooking spray on thepipe and threads, plus a dab of EP grease on the threads. Slid the 2 inch pipe on theexpander and pumped until it became difficult. Released and turned about 6 to 8 times. You must turn the pipe otherwise a square pipe will result. Perfect results, 2 inch pipefit into each other without adapters. No compressor or impact gun needed. Made 6connections. This Lisle kit is heavy duty and would buy again if ever needed.

Excellent value
I find people comparing this to a hydraulic flaring too to be absurd. To compare this to a $5000, 1000 lb floor machine is completely ridiculous so i would not pay much mind to those. The tool works well, plain and simple. If you keep the sliding surface of the wedge well lubed and use an impact wrench you will be flaring tube like nobody's business. If the wedge gets dry the effort required will go up significantly and i do not think you will have much luck trying to use this without a 1/2" impact. For larger flaring jobs just rotate the expander head 90* every now and then and you will have a nice round tube. If you don't rotate it you will have a rounded edge square shape instead of a nice round circle. Once you start using it you will see what i mean. Dont let this dissuade you though, any flaring tool has the same issue once you really start expanding the tool head.Even the $5000 hydraulic machines.

Works on 304 Stainless
Used this with my DeWalt 20v impact, a 1/2 drive, and a deep socket, all impact rated. Worked great!

Lisle 34400: great design, threads did not strip like the competitions
Great design. The use of full length solid expanders that do not bend or break is so much better than the competition's bridge design.Spend a little extra and buy the Lisle 34400 Exhaust Pipe Stretcher.I was expanding my stainless 2.5" rear catalytic converter inlet.I lubed everything up with bearing grease beforehand.Used my 1/2" long handle socket rachet, did not even need to use the impact gun.I rotated the tool 3 times to eliminate the previous crimp from the clamp. Now I can throw away the OTC & Summit Racing branded broken bridge design versions.

More than enough for the hobbyist/enthusiast, probably good for occasional professional use
I had no problems using this to stretch the factory exhaust on a 2007 Toyota RAV4, as well as the ends of a section of 16 gauge 409S stainless steel tubing. In the latter case I was just holding an 8-inch section of the tubing with a leather glove in my weaker left hand, I didn't need any kind of strap wrench or anything. The piece turned a little bit in my hand but with the great mechanical advantage provided by the tool's taper, it all worked fine. And I was just using a relatively inexpensive Harbor Freight electric impact wrench -- I didn't have to bother taking out the big air gun and firing up the compressor. This thing is really well built and has power to take over where the cheapo expanders give up. You know the type, the ones that you can borrow from your local auto parts store for free. I would even go so far as to say this would suit a professional mechanic who needs to do some occasional exhaust fitting. For the hobbyist/enthusiast, I cannot see why you would ever need anything more than this. The people comparing this to hydraulic expanders, well they must be expanding pipe every day or week for a living. If you just had to fit up some pipe once or twice a month, this is all you need, and it would hold up pretty well.I didn't see the size of the drive nut listed anywhere in the kit, so I will mention that my 29mm impact socket fit perfectly. Which is a good thing because I don't have any SAE impact sockets that large.

Best Exhaust Expander Available
I rented two manual expanders from an auto parts store , both made in china. Both were used and both were broken in the box but looked new. It took me all day and cost me a lot of time and gas. I found the Lisle expander on Amazon and purchased the Kit. After the tool was delivered , i lubricated it per the instructions. The lubricant is included in thee storage case. In 10 minutes the expansion part of job was finished. I own and have used other expanders but this is the best yet.

Works great if you know it works & how to use it and take your time!
This works great if you have a good air compressor & good impact gun & time. I used it to install a catalytic converter on my truck, I hat to stretch both ends to 3-1/8" ID. To do this you need to read the instructions and check out the adapters to see how it works. You need to lube the "bolt/nut" assembly threads with "anti-seize" and start with the largest adapter set up that will fit in the pipe and start stretching. You will need to stretch and the looses and twist the stretcher 45 degrees and stretch again to make the pipe round again. Keep doing this and upping adapters till you get to the size you need! Can't say how long it took to do my 2 stretches but it made the install so much cleaner/easy and allowed my to do it without needed adapters and more clamps!

Well worth the money, great tool and time saver
Fantastic tool, don’t know how I’ve got by without it all these years. Have a Huth high speed exhaust machine and several hammer type exhaust expanders but this tool makes them look like junk. Well worth the price. Plus I just saw a video using a enerpac hollow bore hydraulic cylinder with this tool instead of a impact, I’ll be trying that next time.

A great addition to my tool box
Overall, the quality is great and had no issues with using this product. It expands pipe diameter effectively and it is easy to use. I paired this up with an air tool to expand stainless steel pipes, and have been very pleased with how it performs. At first, I was skeptical since the expander material is made out of aluminum, but it was able to expand stainless steel material no problem!Thank you for the wonderful product! :)

Tuff, Works really good.
This is a very sturdy and effective tool, and will stretch and flare your exhaust pipes. Don’t waste your time and money on cheaper low quality look a likes. They will shatter the first time you put your impact on them. This one takes a lot of abuse.

Good quality for the money
Works well so far. Haven't used it a lot but so far so good. seems to be of good quality. I've noticed you have to rotate the expander a few times to get a good round flare. Doesn't work well with the impact on older pipes still on the car as it vibrates too much causing other problems. But still able to do it, just have to do it manually with a long power bar(ratchet). Not easy but it can be done. Holding the pipe itself without crushing it seems to be the biggest challenge
