There is no indication on it where it was made. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was China.

Mine is hung outside under the roofed entryway, so it does not get direct weather. It has not rusted at all.

Would this look good in a hallway?

I think it depends on your taste, but it is metal and weathered looking. If your hallway display was more "country" in style, it might, otherwise, I would say it might be a better fit outside.
