Worked well for me with Apple Cider Vinegar
I was not sure if this would work and used apple cider vinegar in the cup instead of the provided solution. It took a while (3-4 days) before it started to catch the fruit flies. Once it started, it caught a lot of flies and I am pleased with its performance. It looks much better than a cup with cling wrap and punched holes in it.

Highly recommend to rid your home of fruit flies!
This item works better than anything I've tried to get rid of fruit flies. I especially like that you can get refills and don't have to buy a whole new set.

Useless. Don't waste your money!
First, I can only report on my own personal experience here. Second, I feel i was 'fooled' by all the "positive" reviews & ordered it. Got this today and put it right to use with High Hopes. While easy to set up, unfortunately it's basically useless. The fruit flies fly all around it but very few actually go into it. After several hours only 3-4 were actually in there. Meanwhile I killed nearly 50+ with a spray bottle filled with dish soap & water. (It kills them almost instantaneously). Also you can make your own "trap" for Free. Just take a small jar, put it some fruit scraps (& or honey) mixed with some dish soap, cover with wax paper (or saran wrap) secured with a rubber band & punch several holes in the wax paper to give the flies access. Presto! A trap that will work just as well for FREE. I'll be asking Amazon for a refund on this expensive useless trap. Really wished it had worked as once infected with these guys it's really hard to eliminate them completely.

Works better than alternatives I've tried.
While this isn't a magic wand that will instantly send all of your fruit flies into the great beyond, it helps. It works much better than my go-to alternative which is half-filling salt shakers (that I bought just for this purpose) with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water, and adding a drop of dishwashing liquid. The salt shakers catch some fruit flies. In some cases, the salt shakers catch a lot of fruit flies. But these RESCUE traps significantly outperform the salt shakers. They're reusable. After a few days, you have to replenish the bait. That's when I use ACV, water, and a drop of soap, and that works just about as well as the bait that comes with the RESCUE traps. That's not to diss the RESCUE traps in any way. The design does work. To those who had unsatisfactory results: I believe you. I think the difference has to do with the type of fly problem you're having. This seems to work on my issue, but I don't know the exact type of small flies that I'm dealing with. Maybe you have fruit flies and I have gnats, or whatever the case may be. Still, if you're having an infestation of tiny winged creatures, it's worth trying this. I recommend the product.

Awesome
This product works wonderfully! Also just as a note when the liquid that comes with it runs out, just use apple cider vinegar!

Works
We refill these anytime we have a fruitful problem. We tried multiple home remedies and just couldn’t seem to totally rid our kitchen of fruit flies. These traps finally solved the issue. Very easy to use and reuse.

Trap works, bait not so much.
Got a baaaaad fruit fly infestation. Tried leaving this trap out for a day with the vinegar bait that came with it. Didn't catch a single fly!!!However, I did notice that the fruit flies were swarming around an empty can of Mango White Claw. So I tried baiting this trap with Mango White Claw instead. BAM. Started catching flies by the dozen. Conclusion: The trap works alright, but the bait does not attract flies. Just use The Claw.My husband and I call them Becky Flies now. :D
