Good value, easy to fit
Easy fix for my faulty 3-way valve, comes with crimp connectors to make the job easy! The last time I had to swap it was 5 years ago. Very good value.

Easy fit for Honywell 2 port valve 4000 3916-001
Everything needed is in the box, screws, crimps, motor. Swap out is quick and easy, but need to know what your doing. Some good kids on youtube. In theory these should not burn output they do. This is a Syncronous motor, not the original syncron motor so not sure how long it will last. The synchronous motor fitted by British Gas only lasted 9 months. But if this one does more than a couple of years then it's great value.

Budget replacement
A budget item, they work fine, however they get extremely hot, which I find concerning, so I check it regularly, you could fry an egg on the casing , these little motors are designed to get warm, but surely not too the point where you leave a layer of skin behind if you touch the case .

Easy to replace but not the issue
I thought this unit was the issue so replaced it. Nice and simple to replace. Comes with all the parts. In the end the issue was the controller which seems to be the most common fault. For those looking to buy for a boiler that doesn't warm the radiators, first remove the switch unit from the water pipes (to stop any doubt over the power of the motor). Set the boiler to central heating. Now check that the switch completes the transition from hot water to central heating on its own. If it does then it's this motor if it doesn't then most likely the controller, next check should confirm. Now try it again, but this time give it a helping hand. If it just needs a gentle nudge then I suspect you have same issue as me which was the controller was fried. Only thing for that is a new unit. Had I realised how these things work, I'd have saved myself a few bob

Budget replacement, lasted 3 months
Did the job for 3 months then failed. So I’d recommend buying 2, for when one inevitably fails

Not a perfect fit for ESi valves
It works with an ESi valve, but only just. On the original motor, the spindle is longer than the cog and it sits in a little hole. On this valve, the spindle is flush with the cog and is also a bit tighter when mounted. This means the springs aren’t strong enough to return the valve. I got round this by loosening the mounting screws. It did the job, but it isn’t a perfect fit. The motor is good quality and works, so 5 stars.
