Designed for use with Artifacts, Purist, Stillness, Margaux, Kelston, and Composed bath fillers, this mounting-block installs into the wood or concrete subfloor to firmly anchor the bath filler faucet. Review: Money well spent - Our contractor secured the mounting block to the floor floor joists before the tub arrived, but he still had to cut a hole in the ceiling below to complete the tub installation. That's a minor inconvenience but was not unexpected during our bathroom remodel. There's absolutely no wobble with the filler. Be sure to follow mounting instructions BEFORE you install the bath tub so the filler is positioned correctly. We had to loosen the four mounting screws and rotate the tub filler so the hand sprayer dripped in the tub and not on the floor. The mounting block provides four stainless steel slots that facilitate rotating the filler to the correct position. Be sure to not lose the locking washers if you remove a screw. I used a paper clip to fish out the washers from the mounting block collar. Review: Worked great and the large floor faucet is very sturdy. - The plumber had no trouble putting in the Kohler mounting block for the freestanding bath faucet but we had taken up the old tile floor before putting down hardwood so he didn’t have to cut out our bathroom floor to install the mounting block under the subfloor.It works perfectly and our bath faucet which is quite heavy is quite sturdy. We are very happy.

Worked great and the large floor faucet is very sturdy.

Necessary if you install the Kelston and other free-standing faucets
This is a solid piece of plumbing. Nothing wrong with it at all. One star off for being annoying that it isn't included with the faucet. This is not optional - you can't use a different mounting block, after all. Just increase the price to include the mounting block, Kohler.
