How long does it take to take effect? Is it noticeable?

The effect is subtle. To determine if A-GPC was actually helping me, I studied chess openings as a measuring stick. Learning a chess opening requires a ton of memorization, because there are dozens of variations/lines, traps and gambits for every opening, and you have to commit all of them to memory. For me, A-GPC definitely improves my ability to learn these complicated patterns. However, I also started taking A-GPC for my workouts, but I have not noticed any improvement in my endurance.

How long until it kicks in?

The effects are subtle, so it's hard to say when it "kicks in." You should notice an increase in mental focus. And if you exercise, you may notice that you have more endurance than usual.
