Great Upgrade Extended Battery
These batteries are a great upgrade. Significantly increase run-time over the small stock battery. Great price too. I keep the short battery as a backup. Ive had them for years with no noticable degradation. Recommend 👍🏼

Does not fit 5Xp butttt...... to sellers credit they tried to help and replaced them too.
Battery being exact fit for this radio> gotta only give it a one star.... for sellers efforts to make it right... I give 2 more for 4 stars totalOn my Two new UV5xp's radio's, the two new extended batteries... neither battery fits either radio.Battery's pocket the radio slides down into is few MM too small. This causes the catch at the top of battery not seat into the radio's latch. Thus it can not lock into place nor make contact with power plates.Seller at first sounded to me as if they were being very difficult about returning these. I misinterpreted their intention which was more of trying to decipher what the problem was. I exchanged some pictures with them and they exchanged a video. In the end it was decided mine were just not going to fit. They were kind enough to send out new batteries at no cost for my troubles even though the 5xp is NOT listed in the list of radios it fits. (I had missed that)While it should fit... it is same as 5vr... only internal chips are different..which they agreed at.... so they too were confused why it would not fit..Yet it appears that is not in the this case.... well pardon the pun... it is really not "this case". The 5xp radio case..... at least whomever manufactured this particular set (read that more than one company makes them under Baofeng name) their seems to have a little tab below the model number label at base of radio that interferes with mounting battery. (see pic of keypad and purple circled area) Trimmed the battery's case to accommodate this and it fits nicely and clicks solidly into place..Shaved battery as marked in picture and it clips on just fine now. Remove all that in yellow/red. A Dremel worked great but even a fingernail file or metal file would do the trick.... or sharp box knife to carve it etc. should do as well.

BAOFENG BL-SL 3800mah battery
easy to install.
User
Great capacity, perfect fit, charges in the cradle.
I have both a UV-5R and a UV-5x3, and the battery fits both just fine with no excessive pressure needed to mate it. The battery's capacity is nothing short of amazing; it powered my radio in sporadic daily use, mostly on high power for solid signal into the repeater, for nearly a week during Hurricane Florence. I'll be ordering a second one for my other radio.Baofeng / BTECH web sites will tell you that this battery must be charged through the side connector. As far as I can tell, this is completely erroneous information. It has contacts for the charging cradle, fits the cradle perfectly even with the radio attached, and seems to have no problem reaching full charge that way.
