Q: How long does it last?

This is not a preventative flea med. it only kills the fleas that are on the animal when you dose it. We use them in rescue work - when we find a stray dog/cat they are usually infested. We dose, get in to rescue, get fed - then bath.... if you are looking for a long lasting preventative this is not the product

Q: How often do you administer?

This is NOT a flea preventative. You MUST use a flea preventative with this product. Capstar is intended to treat a flea infestation by killing any flea that bites your dog over a period of a few days if needed - more than one dose is rare. Typically it is prescribed by veterinarians for one time use. If your dog has fleas, it is best to treat them (and all of your other pets) with Capstar to kill any fleas on them. Meanwhile use a flea preventative (best to get from your vet, but Frontline is probably your best option if not possible).

Q: Is this a preventative or a treatment for a dog with fleas and ticks?

Thank you for your inquiry. This product is a treatment for killing adult fleas only. It does not do anything for ticks.

Q: How long does one tablet last?

They last long enough to get the fleas killed until you can put regular flea protection on.
